AC remote starter question

Ive tried searching this, but apparently the word AC is too small to be counted in my search haha. I was wondering when people have remote starters on their car so that the interior can get cool by the time they get to the car, does that damage the car in anyway? One of my friends told me to always turn off the radio and AC before turning the car off, because once you turn it back on it becomes a drain on the battery if everything turns on at once. I dont know if thats just a myth or what, but Ive gotten used to doing it. Now Im interested in purchasing a remote starter, but Im hesitant on leaving the AC on before I turn off the car so I was wondering if anyone knows that this just drains the battery or also damages other areas.

Your friend is wrong. Remote start does nothing harmful to the vehicle, in any way.
And using AC draws more amps, but it makes no difference when your AC is on..

also the first time you park in gear and end up with your evo in the living room. If you didn't notice, you need to push in the clutch to start the car.

Nope.

and a properly adjusted E brake will keep the car in place if he made such a mistake.

IMHO, I have one on my current car, and I hardly use it except to freak people out in parking lots. in the 100+ weather with 90%+ humidity, I still hardly use it. And when I do, it never has the car cooled by the time I get there, and my AC is good too.

After about the first month, I realized it was merely novelty.

i'm sure it comes in a lot more use in the winter when yo us tart up the car in the morning. hit the button 5 or so before you head out, and your car will be all warmed up and ready to go... also i think a lot of remote startst offer turbo timer features, no?

dontrevme, i guess you're implying that adjusting the ebrake is a *****, eh?

I've got the Compustar on mine. There is a certain procedure you follow when getting out of the car. If you follow it, it allows you to remote start the car next time you come back. It basically leaves the engine running, you get out, and you lock the doors. It assumes at that point it's in neutral and allows you to remote start next time. In addition, I know some alarm places can install safety switches in the shifter to ensure it's in neutral. If not, it won't start...

Here in Norcal, we were in the 90's and low 100's reently. Letting the A/C run for a couple minutes before I got to the car made a huge difference. Also, opening the windows a crack helped keep the internal temps down throughout the day so the car cooled quicker...
