Chipped Throttle Body? What?
Pretty strange... I did a boost leak test and found 4 big leaks. One was at the TB. I took off the UICP and found this:

Now I am clueless as to how this happened but the funny thing was, the boost leak actually turned out to be the TB shaft seals. So basically my throttle body is just a big mess right now! Leaking and chipped.
Anyone have any ideas how a throttle body chips like that? My clamp was set all the way back not even near the edge. Its only been taken on/off once when the clutch went on last month. Other than that, never. I actually have the peice of the TB that came off, its very small as you can see, it was just sitting snug on there.
Im in search for a 2005 OEM TB now!

I am the original owner of the car.
Didnt even have a T-bolt on there. Yes the shaft seals are leaking (which is another problem in itself). You can buy a new shaft seal. Its $11 from MachV. The DSM ones fit the EVO.
Yeah I know. The little peice of the TB was just sitting there, I kinda just took it off. Thank god.

and the seal is leaking? how do you fix that? I don't think they sell the seal only.

My buddy got major warranty work done and he has everything you do, so its very possible they won't give you problems. A lot of it has to do with your attitude, appearance, and composure. GOOD LUCK, ITS POSSIBLE!

it looks as if it pried apart like someone used a screwdriver to seperate it from the intake mani/hose couplers or something (pic is a little crappy) but damaged it in prying it....

Since you have cams and I'm assuming an aftermarket clutch anything can happen
