I've noticed that all of a sudden, now that Ford has finally made a car worth a damn, some people see it as king!! Before 03, the cobra was just another v8 to stomp on.. It couldn't just be a V8, but they had to Supercharge it in order to keep up.. I thought I read something about the cobra putting 360 to the wheels?? From 390 flywheel hp, to 360 wheel, is that a little too close? I dunno.. But for less than $2g, Buschur's EVO is putting 343hp to the wheels on the ground!! Now that's some impressive **** from a what?? That's right folks, A 4 CYLINDER!!! See ya Cobra!! You aint worth a damn... I don't see the Vettes or Z28 with forced induction... HHmm???
I consider myself to be fairly open minded, and tend not to generalize, but jackholes force me into it sometimes. my list of cars that i've owned in chronological order...'87 cavalier z24, '69 road runner, '68 mustang fastback, '66 coronet, '96 camaro ss, '01 integra type r, '91 geo storm, '03 EVO VIII. I like cars that have the ability to put a smile on my face. the storm was a 2 month between car he he he. I also own spec mazda rotary open wheeler, but we're talking about street cars here. Now, on to the madness. THE ONLY PEOPLE I REALLY GO AFTER ON THE STREET ARE MUSTANG DRIVERS. I know it's a generalization, but it's been my experience that stang drivers are the largest group of mentally handicapped motorists out there. I swear to God that everytime I hear an engine rev next to me I look over and it's a Fu@#$%g 17-25 year old mustang driver, and we're in rush hour traffic. I'm telling you 90% of all rev's since I bought my 8 have been these tools. The worst part is they all have been the worst god damned drivers out there as well. You all may not believe this, but I bought my car march 2nd, and since then 3 stangs have wrecked trying to race me...but i never accelerated nor intended to accelerate. One lost it after hitting a pothole 50-60ft after the light and hit 3 parked cars, the other swerved to avoid a merging car (another mustang turning without looking lol) lost it and drove it into a restraunt pinning 2 customers and 1 waitress between a table and the bar. noone was hurt in either incident. I just sat in the car and watched both wrecks, then pulled over to see if everyone was ok. Imagine how you would feel if the guys you were revving on has to pull you out of your car, and is asking you if your'e ok while he dials 911 on his cel phone. DAMN! Anyway, I know this isn't representative of all mustang drivers just as I don't fit into the "typical" import driver (considering my past automotive purchaes). However, I find no greater joy than destroying a mustang. I loved my '68 fastback, I respect the foxbodies (props), but my experiences has made me despise the newer stangs and their owners. They're like the fat chicks on jerry springer that wear bikini's and say things like "If I got it, I may as well show it off", and other absurdities.
Geez.. Why don't you also point out the Mullets and flannel..
Anyway.. In the end, none of the chest beating makes much of a difference.. Thats all this stuff ends up being..
I definitely don't characterize mustang drivers in any way like that, or any other car for that matter.. But any type you hype a car, someone's gonna go for all of the hype hook-line and sinker.. Its really no big deal, there's some of us EVO8 owners who are the same way.. Many more of us are GROWD UP enough to not take much of this seriously.
Car enthusiasts are car enthusiasts.. But there are two types of people... The ones who do it for their own personal satisfaction.. and the others who need the validation of other people to get satisfaction in themselves. Many of these jackholes have these cars (IRREGARDLESS of what brand) to meet chicks, or draw attention, or whatnot.. Thats not what most of us are about, its best we just let it go..

I definitely get my share of jerks giving me a hard time.. regardless of brand, it always seems to be someone MUCH younger, with an attitude (Showing off for his friends, or his girl) I know its not always the case, but it really depends on the exposure you put yourself under.. If you go to a "Strip" to "cruise" odds are its just inviting this sort of thing.. I admit I do it.. and then I just shrug off most of it.
Jeez guys, way to make this board look just as bad as the one we're ragging on. I've yet to find a car where a single stereotype fits. But everywhere I go, I see "Mustang owners are stupid immature *******s with a small *****" or "Import owners are a bunch of rice a holics who think their 4 banger piece of crap is something special". ****ing grow up. People buy cars for a lot of different reasons. There's probably 30 Mustangs in the parking lot at work (I kid you not), and the variety of owners is staggering. The few Cobras in town are owned by a wide variety of people - the fastest by a ~22 year old who is as far from being a redneck as possible. He doesn't go around revving people, but he's not afraid to smoke those who rev him. I'm not a huge fan of Mustangs, but I can at least pull my head out of my *** long enough to realize that they're good cars that appeal to some people. Evos, STIs, Mustangs, S2000s, Corvettes, you name it. Some people like them, some don't, if you're one of the latter group, try to take the high road and accept that other people have different priorities in life.
