exhaust question

I currently have a DC Sports catback exhaust, because it was on the car when I bought it. In my area they are real uptight about having "modified exhaust". Infact, it's a felony ticket if you're caught with it!! Well, now comes the time to switch it for an exhaust that looks more stock and isn't too loud. I have a down pipe and high flow cat already, but I was wondering if anyone had a 3" catback that looks close to stock, or at least the tip/muffler part of it. I've seen the perrin, greddy, and apexi ones on lancershop.com, I was wondering if anyone has one of these installed on their evo and could provide some feedback on which one has worked for them and how close to stock it looks? I don't want to get another exhaust ticket, so it can't have a large tip or be obnoxiously loud. If anyone can provide some insight that would be great! thanks.

Works has a gutted stock muffler that they sell. JIC makes a str8 thru Ti exhaust that idles like stock & is about 1/10th the weight...

Yeah, that's the exhaust I've been looking at. (Apex'i NOIR) Do you have any pics of it mounted, or know how much or if it is louder than a stock system?

I've been thinking of doing that too. looks very sneaky!
what kinda performance does the magnaflow give over stock? with my DC Sports, i gained ~1-2lbs of boost and the turbo seemed to spool up quicker than the stock exhaust I put back on my car temporarily. How does the magnaflow sound? does it have a deep tone? my friend had magnaflow on his 04 cobra and his 04 sti, and it sounded good on both cars. Just wondering what it sounds like on an evo. I'm definately going stealth though, just haven't made up my mind on what brand of exhaust to go with...

Exhaust

Check these guys out www.VRSexhaust.com. They make there own exhaust systems in house as they have 4 mandrel bending machines.
Actually, alot of you guys are probably driving around with one of there exhaust systems as they make them for alot of companies and just put a logo or sticker on the box and ship it out.

Below 4K it's got a good tone and not too loud, but after that... it is loud and louder at WOT, but it has to handle an XS Engineering DP and TP. If it had a resonator at the test pipe it would not raise an eyebrow.
I use a Magnaflow 12229; a three inch straight through perferated core, a can of Kylon, and mandrel bends from RRE;

... took it all to the muffler shop and bada bing.

I love the stealth look of the exhaust. In my area, the cops give tickets for modified exhaust pretty much based on looking at your tip and seeing that you have a "modified system." I want a 3" catback system because It flows better. I had a tanabe downpipe, test pipe and DC Sports catback on my evo, but the testpipe and catback have been replaced with stock components until i can get this ticket cleared from my record. Then, I'll be able to put a more stealthy exhaust on the car and get my performance back. I'm going to be ordering a BR or AMS high flow cat as well as a stealthy looking catback to go with it. I have a few more questions about the magnaflow system. I probably will not be driving above 4k rpm during my commute, so the noise level won't be much of an isse on that, but with a high flow cat and a resonator, how much louder will this exhaust be than a stock system? and also, on your set up, how much louder do you think it is than a stock system? I don't want an exhaust that will be all bling or loud and say pull me over to the cops. i just want something that will flow better and make the car more efficient. thanks for your help.
