Hail damage need advice

We had one hell of a storm today and my car was beat up with hail The hood, roof, trunk, and whole left side of the car have small dents all over them. The lighting in my garage sucks but I'll try to get some decent pics.

Can anyone give me any insight as to how much the insurance companies will pay for this? I'm wondering if I'll be able to replace the hood/trunk as they are the worst (other than the roof).

This could be good for my car if I'll actually get some loot for it... it's lacking some "style"

Why wasn't the car in the garage during the hail storm?

Yeah I've been checking out my options. I'm mainly concerned or wondering how much insurance will give me lol... I'm not trying to scam or anything but I've paid insurance for 10 years with 0 wrecks.. I want to replace the hood and trunk at least... but on the other hand if they give out some crazy amount of money I might just say screw it and build a motor lol

I was at work.. the storm moved in so fast I couldn't have got home in time.. plus it was so bad there is no way I would have tried to drive in it. Hail is very rare.. I hear about it in surrounding counties but have never seen it or had a car damaged by it.

if the paint is chipped i'd file a claim... if not paintless dent repair could be cheaper than your deductable

That's the spirit!

The trunk has holes and a small dent (from me) plus the hail damage... It definately needs replaced.

I got asspunked by the insurance company after a hail storm. 35 months of additional service charges because the claim was over a grand.

That sucks, Hopefully your insurance company will take care of you. We just had bad storms with hail and several tornados here last week. At lease your car dosn't look like these. (I hope)

I'm having mine repaired for hail damage as I type this. My damage was mostly roof and hood with a few on the trunk and doors. Geico did a PDR quote for almost 2 grand but I'm sure it's gonna cost more than that.

How big were the dings? Are they replacing anything (trunk hood etc..?). Any specifics would be great

I have State Farm. This happened about 5yrs ago to my new Civic. The total was barely over 1k and they considered it an "Act of God" but I paid the price.

The hail was a little bigger than quarter size...almost golf ball sized. Dents are accordingly. I don't know yet if they will have to replace the hood. The trunk has very little damage, the RR door has a ding right in the top C-Pillar area which can't be pushed out so they'll have to weld a tack to it and pull it out...which of course requires sanding and paint.
After talking with the shop owner today he thinks the hood will have to be replaced but the PDR guy is someone different. Will know more tomorrow.

As for insurance...I only have to pay my comprehensive deductible and since it's an act of nature it doesn't count against me.

They will usually estimate hail damage based on paintless dent removal if the car looks like it can be repaired that way.
