the rain is your friend

just got back from the track,(it was raining really heavily) with a couple of porsches (993 turbo-heavily modded, GT3, Boxter S, 964C4, 996c4s) and my evo was quicker than all of them. i usually have to drive really hard just to keep up, but this time i was quicker, without a doubt.

Moral of the story, if some expensive german machines are making life difficult, wet the track

Yes they are also awd, but they have rear wheel bias don't they? plus, i would think that mid engine cars would be more susceptible to spinouts than a front engine car, especially when its wet. i doubt any of the porsche owners would want to push it and risk totaling their car just to go a little faster.

forgot to mention that almost all the cars (except for 993t and the c4s) were on semi-slick tyres and it was really pouring down. the 993t was modded to over 500bhp, it could not even accelerate in a straight line.

i usually get smoked in the straights due to lack of power, but i guess the rain showede that the evo is much better balanced
