what do you mean buy parts?...tbe...is almost the same except the o2 is on the cat for ix's...so you need to either
a. plug the o2 on the evo viii b pipe(exhaust) and plug the o2 in your existing cat
b. buy an exhaust that does not have the bung on the b pipe.

everything is a bolt on...i have a ix turbo on my viii...its the basic bolt on affair but the only difference is the cat/o2 hook up...my advice is to go with a test pipe with an o2 bung and just plug up the bung on the viii's b-pipe...

--try not to get an intake until a tune...with the intake your going to run even richer than stock...

i've never seen the individa g200 on an evo before...i assume you like that muffler style...not my taste though...the quality should be pretty good though but as for the intake i dont know to many people using aem...most are using panel/stock type or hks rs...try to search about the products before you buy!!!

...okay here goes...the cat on the viii's and ix's are the same(length, bolt pattern...etc) the only thing different is that there is an 02 bung on the ix's cat(basically where the o2 hooks up to the exhaust system)...on the viii's the o2 hooks further downstream on the actual exhaust piping...so your problem is going to be the length of wire/slack that your o2 sensor has in order to be plugged up to the system...

--if you have a jack, jack stand, and some good tools then it can be done in a 1-1 1/2 h and it might be harder than installing an intake since your going to be laying on the ground...be sure to use wd-40 on the exhaust system though

Jakextrainer,

o.e.boost explained very well. I even posted a full topic including pictures of both exhaust on the Evo 8 and Evo 9 because when the Evo 9 came out even the exhaust vendors did not know if the Evo 8 exhaust would fit on the Evo 9.

Just to let you know in case you need to get spark plugs the Evo 8 and Evo 9 spark plugs are different. Definately be aware of the cat o2 sensor bung, they are located in different places on the Evo 8 and Evo 9. LICP are a hair differents as well.
Other than that all the parts should bolt on directly. Do a search on my name and you can view the topics I open included pics on the exhaust.

Some are bolt on and some aren't. I recommend a recirculating BOV(just like the stock one).
The stock location of the BOV on the Evo 9 is on the air intake(half way between the turbo inlet and the air box). The BOV has a "L" shape with a nipple in the top and is made of metal on the Evo 9 (unlike the Evo 8 made of black plastic) you can't miss it

your bov is really good for a stocker...thats what i have on now(jdm mr or 9)...holds boost like a charm(thats what i really car about)...i really got bored of the noise makers...i've had a blitz, hks, greddy...all great bov's but caused problems at idle(mostly stalling issues), except greddy when recirculating...if you want to upgrade for noise and attract attention...hks is to go, its really loud, high pitch sound...greddy is more verstile...its louder than stock when recirculating and doesn't have any stalling issues but some have had problems with the bov fluttering...

--imo keep the stocker and get a tune with an open element intake...believe it or not the stocker does make noise
--when buying bov's make sure you buy kits for the evo...ix and viii is the same!
