I would bye that , that is a easy fix , I bought my evo just like that , maybe a little less damagae but a fixer , if you doint have the time or space doint do it but if you have the tools i would say do it . I think peope get scared of car crashes .

You sould have seen the 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider that i bought . It was wrecked really bad . But hey I have a drop top 360 for way less that you can ever beleave . That drives better than NEW.

any pics of the before and after of the 360, that seems like it would be a pretty cool fix

if the car was insured and they are covering it...

the cost to fix is going to be over 10,000

A vehicle is considered salvage if it has been declared a repairable total loss vehicle by an insurance company, is less than 6 years old, or valued in excess of $5,000 before being damaged, or is a vehicle with a manufacturer’s rating of over 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight.

An insurance company must notify the department within 48 hours of taking possession of the vehicle, either by surrender of the title to the vehicle, or a photo copy of the title, with an application for title in the insurance company’s name. All others must immediately apply for a SALVAGE TITLE. In cases where registration is issued with the application for salvage title, a title will not be issued until the requirements to clear the salvage status are met.

When an insurance company has paid a claim and is requesting a transfer to their name for a vehicle which has been stolen and not yet recovered, a Salvage title will be issued. Upon recovery of the vehicle the insurance company may request a clear title if there is minimal damage.

State to state differs on these priciples of calculating if vehicle is a total loss, therefore a salvage title.

Geez, someone couldn't handle a stock evo? I wonder how bad this would have been if it were modified or any car that doesn't have the stability or AWD of the Evo?

It really doesn't look like it would be a hard fix. A good shop should be able to get it straight enough that nobody would ever be able to tell, except for that salvage title. I would say it's a good buy if you didn't always have the salvage title looming over its head. You could probably get away with getting a nearly new evo for thousands under what you would normally pay. But if you ever wanted to sell it you wouldn't get **** for it...just something to keep in mind. You would take your loss in the end

its defiently worth it if you have the cash, $17.5K and only 80 miles on the engine vs. $32K brand new

You will need a new radiator core support...hope you are handy with a mig welder. It looks like there is frame damage under the front left fender. Don't buy it.

I do not think cops have to do with declaring a wreck car being a salvage or not because they are not body shop people or the insurance company. It looks fixable though.
