ATTENTION: All high performance drivers & and adrenalin junkies!

Attention all high performance drivers & adrenalin junkies:

If you’ve ever wanted to experience your car the way it was meant to be driven, then this is your opportunity.
We are organizing a road trip & drive up to and on the legendary “Dragons Tail @ Deals Gap”, Rt. 129 with all 318 curves in 11miles, and 53 miles of the Cherohala Skyway. For those of you who don’t know about this awesome road, I’m attaching several links to area sites & maps. I lived in the area for several years but never drove the Dragon until just recently, I can’t believe what I was missing out on! I had such a great time that I’m heading back up and thought I’d invite along a few friends.
http://www.dealsgap.com/maps.htm
http://www.dealsgap.com/SubID1/dragon-ariel.htm
http://www.killboy.com/ http://maps.google.com/
Here’s the deal, It’s all free and all that’s required is the following:
1.A good running car that can make it up to, drive on and get back from the Dragon.
2.Your car needs to be in good mechanical shape, especially the brakes.
3.You DO NOT need a highly modified car to have fun, just a good reliable one will do. 4.Tires need to be in excellent shape w/ at least 50% tread. I highly recommend that you have tires that will do well in the wet as we may encounter rain or damp roads.
5.You will need to be able to cruise @ 80 mph for the trip up & back, otherwise you will fall behind
6.A cell phone so we can keep in contact with each other and an emergency notification POC.
It is not required, but highly recommended that we all have a generic two way radio for quick commo while in route and in the mountains as a back up and in addition to our cells as we can give a quick heads up should we encounter Johnny Law along the way.
Obviously you will need items for staying overnight, cash etc. for food & fuel.

THIS IS NOT A RACING EVENT!! While it’s obvious that we all love to drive our cars in a “spirited manner” and will be doing so, as is our nature, we will need to be responsible at the same time. This is not an event for boys with fast cars, but an opportunity for responsible men to drive their cars in a way they were meant to be in a challenging environment, challenging enough that if you mess up and push it too hard, you could be killed or seriously injured!! Please understand that! Thousands of people drive this road yearly with only a limited amount of accidents, some fatal, but very seldom.
This road trip and subsequent drive thru some of the most challenging, twisting and fun roads in the country is NOT for the faint of heart or those who easily get motion sickness.
I will update as people respond accordingly and if there’s enough interest will attempt to arrange lodging. The dates we are looking @ so far are: November 9th thru 12th or 16th thru 19th , if the majority cant make these date then December is open 7th thru 10th or 14th thru 17th . Please keep in mind your holiday schedule. These months offer cooler weather, very little traffic and great views, however, weather may become a factor.
Please let me know if you are interested, email is the best way to make contact with me:

thanks,
Kyle, aka, Sgt Blamo

Anyone who's serious about going, please email me as to which dates are best. I plan on leaving Thursday morning and driving straight thru, driving the Dragon & Skyway Friday & saturday, then returning Sunday.
I had posted this thread in the Evo General section but the Mods moved it, I've requested it to be put back in the general section as I think it will get more exsposure there.

Scottyamaha,
No worries, we wont have ant of thet stuff, besides, I ALWAYS have my G30 L&L!

Brain,
You can bring anything you want, just come!

Glovko,
Hope you come along and bring yo camera
!
William14b,
Atlanta is a hop, skip & a short cruise and BAM! your there! So no excuses!

Clutchdc5,
I own my business, so I can go pretty much whenever I want, but most people have to work durring the week so I figured that it would be easier for more people to go and make it a 4 day weekend.

So far I've got 3 from this site, one in TN. and two besides myself from FL.
