Engine question

my car is untuned with intake and exhaust 1thru 3rd gear feel normal but 4th and 5th feel way to slow. Its obviously not a boost leak because my gauge reads 19. Could there still be a leak in the intake manifold. when i downshift into 4th at about 4,5000rpm and step on it, it sounds like the car should be going faster, it almost feels like a bad head gasket, could this be my clutch, the throw out bearing is making some noise.

You lose power with an intake on your car without a tune.

tune the car, and the car isnt as strong in 4th and 5th because of the longer gearing so it will feel slower. evo is not a top end car without cams and even then it still isnt a top end car.

You want more power a tune is the most cost effective way to make power.

injen- i understand letting in more air untuned will give the car a neg affect but at high rpms it shouldent be that bad. 1st and second gear pull harder especially at higher rpms, but i almost scared now cause i go in 4th and the motor just sounds like its making more power, it feels like im am being held back in 4th and 5th, this happened before any of the mods all of it was done about a month ago. my throw out bearing is starting to make some noise, i think my clutch could just be getting worn and at those high speeds its not grabbing as well i duno

Just adding an intake wont make a night and day difference on losing power. Going from that i would have to say that there is deff something wrong with your car.

I had a intake untuned on my car and i couldnt tell any difference at all.

And im just telling you that, that tiny amount of power that you "gained" back would be unnoticable anyway. Maybe it drove smoother or something like that i would believe. but your acting like you were missing 50whp.
