Engine Rebuild.. What to do while its out.

Okay guys. I recently bought a 03 evo and spun a rodbearing.. anyways

I want to do this **** right the first time.. I need suggestions from the pros here on things i should do.

IE. what HG to go with.

Any pullies i could get?

should I ditch the bs?

Also what else can i do? Once again i want to do this **** right the first time.. I might use nitrous some also. What HG's are good for it.

Also i'm considering SBR's 2.1 But only read about 2 people on the forum having them. Curt Brown being one.. And both spun rodbearings. Any followups

Switching over to a 2.1L is a big cost. Alot more than a simple rebuild of your stock block. Be prepared to spend the money if you go that route. I am sending my head to SBR to have their stage 3 done to it, then I can finally start putting my car back together. At that point I will post all #'s and performance review.

Stock head gasket. How much you are looking to spend helps decide what you should do for the rebuild.

I'm using the HKS 1.5MM Oversized so far and it's doing great! I changed it out when I did my camshaft installation along with valvetrain and other minor stuff. Good luck with the build!

The reason why slow boy 2.1 kit spun rodbearings was becasue the motor wasnt build right. Curt has his motor redone by BR and no problems after that.

Im rebuilding my motor as well what you know i spun a rodbearing to.

Your going to need to insure its done right.

1.I forgot what its called but its the part that you tight down for the timeing belt.

2. engine gas. kit

3.new clutch depending on your goals with the car

4.check oil pump and caseing for and damge or ware on the gears

5.if the belt have not been changed i recomend you do so as well.

6.and a few misc. things like fluids, plugs, oil.

If you are going ***** out in the future i highly recomend you get your block o ringed as well for stock head gas. and a b. shaft delete kit as well.

Depending on what parts you go with as far as pistons and rods you use you should have a block that will hold up and good for 500+ hp safely. Thats if its done right.
