true...true....

For those that can afford it, its nice to have a beater when you want to go somewhere and not have to worry about parking it, coming back and seeing it scratched, dented...

Sorry for your loss man :-(, As for stealing ANY car, its already been said.....IF THEY WANT IT, THEY WILL TAKE IT !!! Pros know what they are doing. Your VIN is visible WHERE EVER you go. They write it down, pay someone at Mitsu (or inside themselves) to make a spare,
and come back and take it later. There was a Benz theft ring that was doing this awhile back. Evos are more valuable because of the all the parts on one vehicle. Seats, motor, brakes, wheels, suspension,CF wing, HIDs...All this makes for an attractive target !!! Not to mention ALL the UPGRADED parts that can be had on one of these BEASTS !!! I myself have a CRX as a DD, and I work at a SECURE installation. the Evo does not get left anywhere alone for any amount of time, plus I got a paging alarm.... Once again...I'm sorry..... :-(

mate it really sucks.

Yesterday i found out that someone tried to break in my EVO. the f..ed up my trunk lock, my key cannot unlock the trunk and the area around the lock is a bit bended... I had it in my driveway. Since yesterday the car is garaged/locked and blocked by another car in the driveway! Plus 24hr camera watching the driveway and i will be installing paging alarm this week.

At my job the car is garaged again and i can see it from my office window...

Danm thieves. I curse all of them and i wish them to die the most horrible and painful death...

Sorry to hear the bad news. Like bkadams said, if they want it they will get it and that its not hard to get a key. Dateline nbc did a segment about dealerships giving keys out to just anyone with a vin and a sobstory. Its not supposed to happen like that but it does. The segment didn't even include the criminals working @ dealerships taking money for keys. My friend has a 99 si with alot of work done, alarm and immobilizer, and a turbokit in his trunk when one night he hears his alarm go off then stop. He looked out the window to see some jerk in his car so he ran out and the guy drove off until the control arm broke and he couldn't move. He got out and hopped into a waiting hatch and drove off with his accompliance. The troopers thought my friend had something to do with it at first because the thiefs had a key. The only reason he has his car is becuase it broke when the thief drove off with it. A immobilizer, an alarm, a pulled fuse, a cutoff to the battery might work to deter or stop a thief from stealing your car- key words "might work". They could always just flatbed the car like they did to my dads 65 gto back in the day(nyc)and another one of the cars he owned while he lived in the city. If they realy want it they are gonna get it no matter what you do. Also people should think twice before they post what area they live in, what mods they have done to their car, what meets and shows they go to...because some thief is reading all that stuff going to the meets and shows writing down your vin to later get a key made for them to steal you evo. Like vin diesal said in the first fast and furious,"you can find anything about anybody on the net" so don't think they can't find out where you live and work to boot.

I just cannot beleive they stole it right from work in the middle of the day. This guy probably took no more than 45 seconds to get it moving. This is not a good day for evo owners. Good luck buddy, hopefully you'll be cruisin around in a new one real soon!
