Purple Tip
Hey i heard if you spray WD 40 on the tip of your exhaust it will change the color to a purplish blue after its been heated up. Does any one know if thats true?

never heard of it, let us know if its true! i will spray WD 40 all over my exhaust manifold to make it purplish blue.

you can heat anodize titanium to get that blue purple color, but im not sure if you can do it with stainless steel.

i'm not sure how a water displacement product would cause a tip to turn purple.... interesting though...

dont have to spray WD40, just heat it up to above ~500C and you will get the coloration from the oxynitride film

Anytime u burn a oil based fluid on a metal is temperarely turn its it a bluish purple color.
