^^^ true but if he did it over time because he had an 03 thats a different story. bilsteins for cheap because he blew his stock ones, new tranny because he blew up the 03 junky one. 03 already came with HIDs. rest is easy. really have to find out if it has the acd.

either way 32k miles on a car if it is an MR thats a lot of miles in one year. especially if it was driven by a kid. if its an 03 and all that was done to it its probably because it was beat to hell and had to be replaced. either way id get the whole car checked out.

Well, this is why I gave such a long list of things to look for to see if it's an MR. You can't just check the Bilstein's, 6spd, and VG, because those can be upgraded on an 03. What is very unlikely to see upgraded is the ACD, and he already said he didn't have an ACD button.

Plus, Event Horizon sure appears to know the guy and said flat out that it's not only an 03 but that they've already explained this to the guy. I sure hope his wife didn't pay as if it were an MR...

Couldnt you just check the vin plate in the door jam and it should tell when the cars manufactured. If its an MR it should have been made at the earliest mid to late 04 right? So check the date on there.

Use the list thw WarrTalon posted. Look at the roof, if its alluminum it will have ridge by the sides.

But theres no way its a MR if its a 03.

Most frustrating thread ever. We're all stupider for reading it. Put the VIN on Carfax.com and be done with it.

That would tell us the year, but the trim might be wrong.

When I carfaxed my 05 EVO GSR, carfax said it was an 05 MR.

True, but it would clear up the model year. That seems to be the biggest question here. The moral of the story is men shouldn't buy shoes for their wives and women shouldn't buy cars for their husbands.

What I think is really funny is that he would let his "wife" buy him a used car as a "gift" without any prior research into the car. Oh, here honey, I heard you wanted one of these... Yeah, right. Would anyone in their right mind trust someone selling you car that they “think” is an MR?

Besides he said he had a 3 series BMW before his 03 Evo "MR". If he was a car enthusiast he would have done his research. No one is that silly when they buy a car, new or used.

Like I've said before, some members told him at the Dragon what his car was. I'm not sure why he had to bring it up here; all its doing is making him look dumb.

Well it is a little confusing if his car really is an 03 and has a 6 speed and Bilsteins. That would say to me it's a salvage car built from a couple of different donor cars.
