03 mr???

well, someone from here just told me there is no such thing as 03 mr!!

the guy who sold me the car told me it was 03 mr...

had 32000 miles on it.

The first Evo 8 MR to arrive in the Mitsubishi dealer showrooms was in August-September 2004. I purchased one of the first units sold. They never imported them before August-September 04.

Very few MR made it to the Mitsubishi showrooms on the first couple of months. There were one or 2 MRs assigned to most of the Mistubishi dealers. I drove away with the first MR sold in AZ.

People like to make up histories..

Hey whats up man. Sorry to say there shouldn't be a 03 MR in the states. Does your car come with a 6 speed transmission? If so he may have been able to put in many of the MR additions onto the car. 05-06 as far as I know are the only years of the MR.

it has the 6 speed trasmission, but when I asked him, he told me it was a 03...

maybe he made a mistake. he was a second owner and he was a young kid. 18, it was his first car, second clutch...

I really hope he did...

Yeah, he did not know much about it. Like there were no 03' RSs either.

We didn't get USDM MRs until the 05 model year, which means they came out in late 04 as Carlos said.

If it's an MR, it has:
- 6spd transmission
- 6spd shift knob with reverse lockout shift lever and feaux carbon fiber shift knob cap
- MR floor mats
- MR badge on the center console
- Yellow Bilstein shocks
- Aluminum roof with parallel ridges on the edges running the length of the roof
- Charcoal multi-spoke BBS rims
- Vortex Generators
- Red, White, Graphite Gray, or Silver color
- No leather
- No sunroof
- HIDs
- OEM gauge package with boost/voltage/oil temp

If it's an 05, it has:
- ACD (switch on driver's side left dash and light indicator in driver's console)

do you have the intercooler spray button in the centerconsole behind the stickshift. if you don't then it's an 05 cause 05's didn't have the intercooler sprays anymore. i'm pretty sure you got an 05 MR.

VIN number is made off 17 digits.

- The first digit tell you the origin of country
- Second digit tells you the manufacturer (a for Mitsubishi)
- Thrid though 8th digit reflect body type, Car line, restraint system, engine, braking system, etc. All Domestic Manufacturers use 8th Character for the engine
- Nineth digit is the check digit(given by DOT)
- Tenth digit is the year of the car
- Eleventh digit is final assembly plant
- 12th through 17ths is the actual manufacturer production car number when built over 500 units.
