Car does not idle on its own.

OK, I have this idling problem for over a year and I'm getting sick of it and I do not even like drive the car anymore. As soon as I start the car, it dies. If it does idle somehow, it stays around 500 rpm and shakes like crazy and ends up dying. I have to hold the gas at 1500rpm around town to keep it from dying. I adjusted to idle up to 750rpm when it is cold, but when it warms up it idles between 1100-1700rpm. I have to heel-toe the gas and brakes to keep it from dying when Im backing up. I have no IC or vacuum leaks and I tried everything I can think of, even messing w/ the EMS it wont idle right. Any suggestions??

Also, I'm always getting a engine code that says o2 sensor heater malfunction and it only comes on if I do not give it gas to keep the revs up when I start it up. If I start it and let it die or idle at 500rpms the light CEL comes on.

Check your idle speed controller, this went out on mine about two years back and it didn't want to idle at all.

So you are using the stock ECU with a SAFC then? Zero out the SAFC and see if that effects anything.

I've tried it, I have to add 8% fuel at 800rpm to make it even idle at 500rpm before it dies. The ecu is Dynoflashed, but I had the problem before that.

I believe all the idle controllers and TPS are located on the throttle body themselves. I'd take it off and have it looked at, or replace the sensors on it.

Also, did you do anything to your MAF module? Some people have taken the honeycomb out of there, or damaged the sensor which causes major idle problems.

Did you have an idle problem before the 280 cams? What are your cam gears set at? Also, you don't list your brand of blow off valve and intake. Which are you running?

Idle Speed Control is the thing unplugged on the Throttle Body

Yes, I had the idle problem before the 280 cams but I was running 272s for about 8 months when this started. BOV is a crushed 1G DSM and a drop-in K&N filter w/ stock box and rubber pipe. Maybe the oils off the K&N have blown into the MAFS because I never had to problem before the filter. That may have caused this, right??? I might setup the speed density on the AEM sometime to see if that is the problem. Is there anyway to clean out the MAFS?
