What would it take to make 400whp/400wtq in EVO IX MR???

Trying to stay on the stock Turbo, injectors, ECU with Flash. Is it possible?

Anyway, I sold my old 2004 EVO that I loved because I had orders to Afghanistan but they were canceled so I had to buy a new one and start back from scratch.

I bought a new IX MR SE Graphite Grey. It is on its way from Cali and will be here in 2-3 weeks, just in time to put some miles on it prior to parts install and a tune.

Here is the list of Mods I am considering, if you have any comments both good and bad please post. BTW, I posted links to where I could find the products which I desire and found them at the best price. Please use these as a reference give me some feedback.

One last item for consideration, look at the mods listed in my sig that were on my 2004 EVO and realize that I consistently cut 1.6 60fts and have gotten decent at the drag strip thanks to seat time and people on this forum especially Warrtalon.... My point is that I am not a NOOB, LOL

I know that the IX has a bigger turbo and MIVEC than prior year EVO models which should assist in the goal of 400/400 and low 11's in the 1/4 mile.

Here is what I am thinking it would take:

Nates STG I

1) HKS Racing Suction Intake kit - http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...0&cat=2&page=1

2) Full Exhaust (O2 Housing/ Downpipe/Test or Race Pipe and Cat back Exhaust) (My preference is Turbo Xs with Ebay O2 housing)

3) Boost Controller - (My preference would be Blitz SBiD Color) - http://importimageonline.com/product...oducts_id=1211

4) Intercooler w/ Upper and Lower plumbing (My choice http://importimageonline.com/product...roducts_id=561)

Nates STG II

5) Methanol Injection kit (100% methanol 0% water) (My Preference Snowperformance w/ MAF and fail safe switch) - http://www.gruppe-s.com/Evo/evoeng.htm It is towards the bottom of their page...

6) Forge Actuator for EVO IX - Helps hold higer boost for Meth kit - http://importimageonline.com/product...oducts_id=1294

7) ARP Head studs so the stockers don't stretch - http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...&cat=93&page=1

8) Walbro 255Lph Fuel pump - http://importimageonline.com/product...roducts_id=475

9) Street or Dyno tune - Turbo Trix or Dyno Flash and many more but I have had both on my last EVO and car ran awesome times. Or anyone that is able to meet my requirements and possibly is close enough to do a street or dyno tune.

Nates STG III

10) Soon I will need an ACT 2900 clutch, I am sure.....

Very respectfully to all that offer input,

-Nate

Just from experience, with that set up you'll be putting down about 380 whp and 360+wtq at around 30psi on alky. If you threw on the TT cams and and aggressive tune it might make around 400.

I say sell the stock turbo and go with a 50trim if you want to make that power (probably more) on just pump gas and with a more usable power band. Plus you won't have to add the cams, nor alky which will save you quiet a bit. From all the research that I have done, alky is not a safe way to go unles you have AEM EMS. I know that there are a lot of fail safe systems out there, but none of them are worth blowing up a brand new engine. Good luck!

http://www.gruppe-s.com/Evo/evoeng.htm It is at the bottom of their page that I sent the link to.

BTW, I have used Snow performance Meth kits on both of my last two cars. They both made big power, produced consistant and relaible results.

I have learned in life to stick with what works for you.

Bang for the buc Meth kits rule!

My friend made 385whp and 382trq on a evo ix with under 3500 in parts....He has intake, tbe and o2 housing with HFC(im pretty sure there is more power to free up with a testpipe), sean ivey tune, walboro 255, rc injectors, exhaust cam, upper IC piping, and sean ivey tune @ 24psi

Friend of mine was making 390hp and 410 torque with basically the same mods (brands differed), and with cams. That was running 30 psi on the stock turbo. Think he was using an EMS at the time though. The IX's make more power alot easier than the VIII's do, so those mods plus cams should do it. I couldnt imagine why not. Good luck!

EDIT: Forgot to mention his was a 2003 VIII.

Do you have a link to the Sean Ivey page or something? I would love to check out his site. I am pretty lowal to Mark at TTZ for coming to P-cola and taking care of us but if he cannot come then I will be forced to find a different place.

Was that on pump gas or race gas? If that was on pump gas, that has to be one of the highest numbers I've seen thus far...
