Tranny/Transfer Case leak after clutch install!

Hey guys,

I recently got an exedy twin installed in my car. After first all was great until I saw a puddle of my royal purple syncromax underneath my car... I work at Honda Cars of McKinney and that is where i got the work done.

I took it back to the master tech that did the clutch job. He told me he bets it is some transfer case o-ring. So he tore it all apart again and replaced this o-ring. He cleaned underneath where it was leaking before and said keep an eye on it. Well now its leaking again...wtf man....what else could it be?!?!

Any info would be nice

Thanks

-Ryan

there are 2 o-rings that mate between the xfer case and tranny. The 4" one that is around the shaft and a 3/4" one that is above that one. Most people dont know there is a little o-ring on there also.

This is my guess as well. Getting those two parts together takes a lot of time and patience. Wrestling the tcase onto the tranny at the same time youre putting the tranny in can be difficult. What you need to do is clean the area and trace the leak. This will tell you if it is coming from the axles or the tcase o-rings.

Seriously doubt the 3/4 inch one. Its above the oil level and is more or less a breather port into the tranny. I would think an axel seal. Its close to the TC where they plug in and it could be easily mistaken for a leaky TC.
