the radio/temperature cover needs to be removed. then the two screws holding the trim piece in. possibly the gauge cluster bezel if you want to be careful.

How about doing the foglight-switch mod? That way you could get some front illumination without having to light up the HIDs all the time. The fogs would be equivalent to DRLs. Then, as was suggested run your clock from a different source.

I thought the clock was broke at first too bc i was always kept the lights on when i first got it.

Does your comment apply to a IX MR? My gauge cluster is way, way below the climate control knobs. It would be cool if somebody could post step-by-step pics. I've removed the radio/temp cover but did not know how to go from there. Thanks again!
