need help!!

Alright i have a 04 evo 8 with minor mods such as greddy type rs bov, perrin cat delete, boost gauge and a perrin boost controller and im planning on making it a full tbe and get a drop in within the next week or two. Well I was running my car at 21psi for a while and now i turned it down to 18. But my question is it isnt pulling that hard and I went over to my local performance shop and they checked it out and turned it down and i took the guy for a ride and it went to 10psi but it felt like it pulled harder then when we turned it up to 15psi. the guy told me that there is a lot of problems with the perrin manual boost controllers and their pos. He then wanted me to sell me a 450 electronic boost controller. Is there a way to fix the perrin one? like a different spring you can buy?
thanks in advance

you just walked into the please buy the expensive **** from me guy... i havent heard anything about the perrin MBC but if it isnt working, forge is very affordable and it works great. holds boost great, easy to install and easy to adjust... you dont need the EBC unless you really just have a ton of money to spend for no reason

why would a boost leak make the 10psi pull harder than 18 and higher psi though??

did you log the boost? or was that from your boost gauge? boost gauge could be reading wrong

What about a tune?

It could be lean at 10 psi which means fast and super rich at 18psi slow

also you could have a big boost leak at 18 and small at 10 which will give the condition above

You were running 21psi, then went DOWN to 18psi - and now feels slower. Seriously? You lowered the boost, lower boost - less power.

Turn it back to 21psi - fixed - duh.

Do a boost leak test.
