i had an evo 8 front end on my evo ix, i always thought the evo 8 was more aggressive especially at night.... it looks f'en mean

 

this has been discussed numerous of times. and as for this post needing pics.... u gotta be kidding me. we all kno how the two fronts looks. as for the two fronts... i don't care which one i have. if i had a IX i'd like it, but i'm biased towards the 8.

 

The IX front has better aerodyamics and looks better but the the VIII front has a bigger opening for the intercooller in case you want to get a bigger one.

 

I've had both and the IX looks a lot better. IMHO
Most people I know say that the beck (where the emblem is on the VIII) look terrible.

Sorry you dont like the two holes. Mitsu did R&D and discovered that on the VIII bumper, the intercooler inlet would get really hot. To cure this they made the small hole to direct air directly onto the inlets, so they can be cooled better. On the VIII bumper the air just goes around the inlets.

 

Evo 9 front looks way better man....

I prefer the VIII front bumper i just think it looks better with the center piece ( above the intercooler and w/o the holes to the left and right of the ic

 

I like the Evo 6 front bumper.

did any of you by chance while you were swapping bumpers check under the front crash beam to see if there was any rust?

 

i love the VIII front end dont really like the IX front

 

You know, this is all a matter of preference as far as looks go, we can go on forever on that, but personally, I feel that Mits changed the front for a reason, you know it evolved. Better aero work in the front means less drag, plus better cooling for the intercooler. At least on the Mits video I have about the 9 they claim increased airflow for the oil cooler, and intercooler, plus less drag and better downforce capabiltiies....so if you look at it that way?? mmmmm what to do hey? haha...on my personal belief, there is nothing wrong with how the 8 looks or the 9 to me, but I always liked the front end on the 7 and the 9 more closely resembles that. Off subject, but I feel the best looking Evo to date is the 6.5 but thats just me.....I think it was one of the fastest stock too, the Tommy Edition, not sure on that for fact though.....

 

OZ Rally front is the best I think!
