evo 8 qtr mile time.....?

what would be a resonable time and trap for just the following setup on 93 gas. current weather conditions..40 degree temps decent driver. evo 8 gsr 93 gas, mbc and ecu flash tune only, stock exhaust. boost 23-24 peak to 20psi redline. base stock dyno 218. mbc and tune 253hp. stock car weight.

I would assume traps of 107 @ 12.8, I seen 05's with same mods + turboback trap 110+ (due to weather) running 12.5's or so on pump. ps what kind of dyno did u put down 250? Also u said "ecuflash only" u can do full custom tunes with that so i dont know what the meant. Also u really pushing 24 psi on pump??? no knock???

at that weather with a tuned flash is possible for mid to high 12s, i ran a 12.1 with a tuned flash, turbo back, intake, mbc l, fuel pump and lower and upper intercooler pipes.

HKSevolutionNYC good times there. I know 2 other good drivers who punched out 12.1/12.2 on different 05 evos on pump gas trapping 112.5 ish with same mods as u minus the intercooler piping. Wich was just crazy driving. Zeus1 U should check the 12 second evo list to see what people trap with that times. Also u can look at the registry and get some peoples mods/times from there. With those mods u got zeus1 if u run a 12.5 u r a great driver, i beleave people who trap 107ish (what i beleave u to trap) hit 12.8-12.9.

dyno was a dynomite dyno. ecu flash you can do custom tunes which is what i had done. i have this mbc http://www.joepmbc.com/proz.html and have no knock running peak 24psi to 20 redline. had the car tuned at tdctuning.com. otherwise i have a stock exhaust and stock fuel pump here is the dyno. base is 218, tune without mbc is 232 and tune and mbc is 253. this is in mid july when it was pretty hot. http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3083065

I would not be spiking 24 lbs on a stock 05 especialy with no fuel pump your asking for trouble A/F are ok now but your asking alot of the stock fuel pump

basically a flashed evo on pump, your looking at low 13's at 103ish. Side note why so much boost on pump gas. Not making for a happy evo I am surprised your not having timing pulled, actually in the 1/4 it probably will get pulled and your time may be slower. Also you picked up 35whp on a power sucking dyno that is incredible, who ever did your flash did a number on your car that was well worth the few hundred you spent.

No way to estimate. You need to go to the track and find out.

I think you will be unpleasantly suprised by the results of running 24psi on 93oct on an 05 with stock exhaust and stock fuel pump. I cannot think of much worse you could do to your Evo than the above scenario. There is absolutely no reason to run that much boost on 93oct to begin with, but ESPECIALLY not with the major backpressure of the stock exhaust and while on the stock fuel pump. You are begging for a blown motor...

yeah it is a defi boost gauge so maybe it is reading high..maybe more like 22-23 spike..tapering to 20 at redline. next mod is turbo back exhaust. the custom tuner spent a while making sure the tune was safe and boost was not overkill. given the consensus though based on the response i will turn it down a bit..

No don't touch your boost controller. If the tuner set it there with your custom tune then it is correct.

You guys have to remember that a good amount of tuners are conservative on timing and aggressive on boost, take Alfred from Tuning Technologies for example.

Don't do 24 psi until you have installed a fuel pump and are using alcohol injection or race gas.

been running this set up for over 4 months..knock on wood no issues..i will touch base with the tuner again. dont want to blow up the motor! he did mention when he was tuning it that the car was set 0 degrees of advance timing... mentioned without the turboback that he could not advance timing at all
