Another Evo vs Sti thread

P.S. These days, Xenon=HID=High-Intensity Discharge. Maybe some day someone will use another gas besides Xenon for HIDs, but I haven't seen it yet.

Whatever you decide, do not put ANY faith in the Mitsu warranty if you have those mods. It is truly discouraging you'd put the HKS RS intake as one of your mods with that quip at the end - that means to me you have no respect for the Evo, because you know you're only getting it for rice purposes. Also, most Mitsu dealerships would love to laugh in your face if you show up with that intake, so be prepared to take it off each time. Also, Mitsu loves to void the ENTIRE powertrain warranty if you change the suspension, so the springs won't do you any good either.
Honestly I want to see a picture of Warr's face everytime someone says they're going to get the HKS RS intake or "intake now car runs crappy" post. Does it make him angry and turn green? That would be a scary thought. "HKS make Warr Hulk angry."

+1 these treads are pointless -- How about you give me your 30k instead. No you say? Its your car? Well then get whatever floats your boat.
By your comments I can tell a few things. Namely, you dont know much about cars in general. You dont know much about these two cars specifically. You dont know how to drive these cars. The search button is this mysterious phantom object that you never have seen. And I will write why.
Get a Subie, and go over to the Subie boards and tell them all you like the STi over an Evo - they will love you much more than we will here.
Warrently will be fine as long as the aftermarket parts did not cause the problem. Example, having a TBE and paint problem on Brembos - dealer wont car about TBE. I never have had dealer problems and I have a fair amount of mods.
Ok.
Why? Because you like a crappy filter that allows dirt/dust in or because its overpriced?
Not just a catback - a TBE
Fine, if you must.
Should get a MBC and boost gauge before springs. And you probably wont push the car hard enough to warrent springs. So Im guessing from your comments all looks and no driving. I.e. you want the intake so you can hear the turbo, cat-back so you can hear the engine sound and see a shiny muffler, and springs to make it lower.
What? New clutch in 10 months? You must be related to Nostradamus. Sounds more like you dont know how do drive a standard trans. The clutch should last longer, key word - should.
Xenon are HIDs. STis have 225/45/17 tires, Evos have 235/45/17s. Note the Evos are wider. So it gets BBS v. Enkei, maybe a pound or 1.5 lighter. See above, I dont think you care - its the name thing isnt it?
Vishnu, Cobb search the Subie boards...
Best thing you have said all tread, and this answers your own question.
Dont lie.

first thing, dont get the rs intake or any intake imo, second get a turboback exhaust not a catback and then you will actually see power gains, third get the evo, i test drove both and the sti feels sooo slow and less responsive then the evo. with an evo IX with the proper mods for under 1300 you can have around 330 whp according to warrtalon, an sti with the same money in mods will have roughly 270 whp from what i have seen. get the evo you will love it
This topic has been beaten to death several thousand times. Please use the search button and try to test drive both cars and decide for yourself. Personally, I think the Toyota Paseo is a much better car than the Evo or STI.

You are correct. I think an EVO needs, performance, looks, and sound to be complete. Ok the hks rs intake sucks is overprice, and does not filter good, I will get some other intake. I'm sorry but I need to satisfy my inner ricer
.
At least I'm not getting shinny rims and a huge wing.

You dont need an intake, esp. not as a first mod.
Well, ya - it already comes with a huge wing.
