ya this isn't always true...there are plenty of people who can't drive, rich and poor alike. I've got a friend who owns a Ferrari F40, F50, F360 Challenge Stradale, F360, SLR McLaren and an F355 Challenge racer that he bought directly from the factory and races in the Ferrari challenge series....he's rich to say the least and man can he drive! Also, you'd be surprised how nice alot of these guys are...sure some of them are d-bags, but the majority are down to earth and enjoy sharing their cars with others...I've meet alot more d-bags with "modded" imports and domestics than with Ferraris and the like...

No, the GT-R from the movie was based on Craig Lieberman's, plus it was converted to RWD. He did buy his from MotoRex (it was originally black and dubbed "The Blackbird"), but he painted his blue with orange on the side. The one from the movie was visually the same (as far as body kit and wheels), except it was silver instead of blue and blue instead of orange, but also with blue stripes running down the middle, if I remember correctly.

Thought I heard somewhere that CL actually changed his car into the silver/blue scheme for the 'close-up' car in the movie and the other stunt cars were based on his. I know everything about the blue/orange car because it was featured in Super Street a while back, and Car & Driver featured the MotoRex Blackbird even farther back. CL completely focked up that car when he bought it, what a disgrace to have APC stickers on a skyline. That man is the biggest sellout I've ever seen.

And yeah, the motor in Paul Walker's GT-R was hurt during drag testing for the SCC shoot. The magazine guys didn't mess it up, I believe they were using a driver from the shop that built the car, or one that Paul had given them.

if i was famous and could afford a few nice cars and a nice house, but not necessarily a large car collection, i wouldnt even think about an Evo, or any mitsu for that matter.

They weren't much in terms of a straight line, as they'd be lucky to break a 14.90, but damn, for the year of the car, 0.92g on the skidpad is quite a feat in itself. It's a shame the F-Body didn't have an IRS setup.

I wouldn't mind doing an IROC build, but removing the V8 and putting in the 3.8 from the Grand National. That would make for one Hell of an awesome ride, and probably make it handle even better because the V6 probably weighs less than the V8.
I had an '87 Formula with the WS6 suspension (pretty sure it's the same exact suspension as on the IROC but under a different option code). It handled pretty damn well for its time and the fact that those cars weigh around 3500lbs with a solid rear axle. The Evo handles much, much better though (Even though the skidpad numbers are close).

As for the 3.8 turbo in an IROC, GM already did something similar. In '89 they fitted a small number of GTA's with the 3.8 turbo (around 1500 I think). They only did it for that year, and I believe they only came in white. Must have had some extra engines laying around from the GN.

Unfortunately, I haven't noticed any famous people driving Evo's, so I'm useless.
