He did buy his from MotoRex (it was originally black and dubbed "The Blackbird"), but he painted his blue with orange on the side. The one from the movie was visually the same (as far as body kit and wheels), except it was silver instead of blue and blue instead of orange, but also with blue stripes running down the middle, if I remember correctly.
And yeah, the motor in Paul Walker's GT-R was hurt during drag testing for the SCC shoot. The magazine guys didn't mess it up, I believe they were using a driver from the shop that built the car, or one that Paul had given them.

if i was famous and could afford a few nice cars and a nice house, but not necessarily a large car collection, i wouldnt even think about an Evo, or any mitsu for that matter.

They handled at 0.92g right off the showroom floor. They weren't much in terms of a straight line, as they'd be lucky to break a 14.90, but damn, for the year of the car, 0.92g on the skidpad is quite a feat in itself. It's a shame the F-Body didn't have an IRS setup.
I wouldn't mind doing an IROC build, but removing the V8 and putting in the 3.8 from the Grand National. That would make for one Hell of an awesome ride, and probably make it handle even better because the V6 probably weighs less than the V8.

As for the 3.8 turbo in an IROC, GM already did something similar. In '89 they fitted a small number of GTA's with the 3.8 turbo (around 1500 I think). They only did it for that year, and I believe they only came in white. Must have had some extra engines laying around from the GN.
Unfortunately, I haven't noticed any famous people driving Evo's, so I'm useless.
