Graham Rahal (Bobby's son and F1 hopeful) has one, and Tomas Schecter (IRL) has one. Those are the famous ones I know of.

That they don't. You could buy a 1985-1987 IROC that does, though. They handled at 0.92g right off the showroom floor. They weren't much in terms of a straight line, as they'd be lucky to break a 14.90, but damn, for the year of the car, 0.92g on the skidpad is quite a feat in itself. It's a shame the F-Body didn't have an IRS setup.

I wouldn't mind doing an IROC build, but removing the V8 and putting in the 3.8 from the Grand National. That would make for one Hell of an awesome ride, and probably make it handle even better because the V6 probably weighs less than the V8.

Downfalls are that it doesn't have AWD, but at least it has RWD, it wouldn't be as light as the Evo, the interior space of the Evo, or as good of a manual transmission. Not to mention, I think the Evo has pretty timeless looks, while the IROC is surely dated looking.

You're confusing grip with handling. The IROCs could generate a lot of grip by the virtue of their tires, but they handled like tractors.

I dunno, man. My dad has a 1989 GTA with the WS6 package and it handles pretty well. I can't imagine the handling of the IROC is any worse. The ones I've driven have been pretty decent.

International Race Of Champions

They were the one make car of that series for that period of time. Then they used Shelby Daytonas for a while too and there are IROC versions of those.
