I hate the damn wing, and I really hate the damn taillights, but I'm leaving the wing on for the extra stability.

RS doesnt have a GG lid, you might as well just buy a CF trunk so you dont have to pay for another trunk plus paint

I'm going to have the lid painted to match. A CF trunk is appealing due to its lower weight, but I don't feel comfortable having a mismatched lid, so it would need to be painted, too. I also like having a factory fit. Either way, the higher cost of CF isn't worth a ~6lb weight saving to me.

Wing adds stability only after 120 mph or something like that, is what I have read! On the street and highways, the benefits will not be seen. On road courses, possibly!

Wing is rated at 100+ but its functional at all speeds. I have the regular lancer low wing that I run when I am not racing. I run the park bench at the track. There is a noticable difference at highway speed without the big wing back there.

I can honestly say that I notice no difference in high speed stability between my old RS and my new SE.

I do notice quite a bit of difference when it comes to rear vision. To add insult to injury, the wing seems to obscure the light bars on police cars, making them much harder to spot. Did I mention how much I dislike the wing?

Wow what happend to the RS? Why did you trade bro ...

But yeah the wing is the gay... And it defenetly hurts the cop spotting , at its level it perfectly blocks theyre lights on the roof

I had put a wing on my RS for about a month and then quickly traded back for the wingless trunk...

As far as looks go , the winged car looks good stock! But the wingless has to have a couple of things done to it to really pull the look off like mine (kinda like a girl with short hair lol. Some girls can look killer and other well theyll look like guys )

I have both the RS and MR IX's... ant the RS for the WIN!!!

And if i do put a wing on the RS wich im sure im going to need to soon! Its going to be a GT wing for sure

Wing is purely for looks! Put a level on it....it's perfectly straight. How does that produce any downforce?

Are you talking about the top of the wing? because yes its flat and that exactly how it produces downforce lol!

i think you have the concept confused a little an airplance air foil like the clark Y Air foil is flat on the bottom and curved on the top! that allows the path under the wing to have a shorter distance for the air to travel than the curved top!

more and faster flowing air flowing under the air foil than the top create a high pressure area under it and creates lift or "up force" i guess lol

the wing on the evo or any other car with a functional wing want the oposite wich is down force

so yes its the oposit of the airplane air foil! its flat on top and curved on the bottom! its basically an upside down airplabe wing

and yes the stock evo wing is functional the shape is defenatly there

even with out the angle it will have a higher pressure section above the flat part of the wing and create some type of down force!

its not going to be no adjustable GT wing down force ofcourse lol

I aimed it into a pole in order to avoid getting rammed by a SUV that ran a red light. I had to make a choice between getting hit, colliding with other motorists or the pole. I went for the latter. It was my first accident of any kind in +15 years.

I only had one complaint with the RS - its headlights. As the SE was available with the HIDs, as well as an aluminum roof and the lighter BBS', I took that option. Otherwise, I would have purchased another RS.

yeah i feel ya on the headlights lol

after getting the MR wich came after the RS it felt like i was driving with my lights off in the RS lol ... i just baught a set of HID's for it and fixed that problem and they were plug and play to no splicing of anything

sorry about the accident im guessing your ok wich is whats important! hope you didnt have your wife and kid/'s in there when it happend though

same thingn happend about 3 weeks ago to me in the MR but to a much lesser extent... some lady in a monster lifted 4 door long bed turbo diesel F-350 on super swompers was next to me on my right.... well a racoon runs out in front of her and from fear of messing up the Big foot she dive swerves into my lane completely like if i wasnt even there....... anyways i dont know how i reacted so fast but its like if i knew it was coming already and just swered for no apparent reason.... i ran up the center devider and f*cked up the car pretty good ... luckily it was mostly all cosmetic damage! these cars are pretty sturdy

the lady didnt even pull over or stop or anything... just slowed down looked back and drove off like nothing had just happend... i came about a foot away from going into the street light pole....

cant understand why she chose to do that to me insted of just runing the racoon over... im sure the monster truck would have been fine

well i cant really even understand why she didnt even pull over and ask if i was ok or anything eather i belive thats the least she could have done since that was her falt and all...

but i guess it was better than getting side swiped by the tank ... the bottom of the truck cab on that thing was higher than my roof i think it could have ran me over like a tin can...

I think it would be cool if someone came up with a quick release wing design, So you could take the wing off and put it back on depending on what you were doing. But it would have to be clean and something to cap the holes.
