Anyone else running in "bullet time"?

When I got my Evo it seemd damn quick, and felt like it was stuck to the road.

Then it started to feel slower... in perception. I guess my mind was catching up to the car... so I modified it, damn quick again.

Now my head is telling me it isn't as quick as it should be... I can actually reach up to the shifter against the acceleration g-force (with effort) and going around corners isn't quite as fast as I thought, I mean it isn't peeling the paint off with inertia.

Am I the only one tossed into bullet-time by the Evo, with the world crawling by as my eyes and brain are running in fast motion?

you know, you truly won't appreciate the speed of the evo unless you drive another car...

i have a 95 integ i used for daily driving... LS motor, little engine mods 140 hp some crap... it's my beater... i drive it everywhere during the week...

on the weekends/sunny days, whenever i drive me evo, i get a renewed appreciation for it's killer performance...

is your EVO daily driven? when i used mine for a week str8, i felt the same way as you...

my suggestion:

take a couple days off from the evo
drive another 5 speed manual car for a couple days
hop back in the evo

you'll be fine

I know what you mean about getting used to straight line speed, but taking corners fast is a different kettle of fish. Are you sure you are pushing the Evo to it's limits on the corners ?

Haha... I push the EVO... drifting ownz. Guess I'm used to road courses and back roads with driving the ITR. Drag racing is like a n00bie using a mouse. "Point and click." :P This coming from the guy who goes to the strip once a week.

i know what you can do to fix you bullettime prob.

we'll trade cars. you live in flo, i live in flo, so distance isn't a problem. you take my silver oz for a a week, i'll take your silver evo. you'll be cured, and i'll roll in style for a week.

pm me and we can set it up.

I had this observation on my car a week or two ago..

Fireball said that it was my "butt dyno"...

You basicall get acustomed to the cars performance, and you're left yearning for more..

Don't drink a beer for a month then have one... You will catch a MEAN buzz..

Same concept because the EVO is fricken INTOXICATING!!

All I can say is that if you want more power, get the 25g turbo kit for it!! They make it for the VII and it works for the VIII! Big power!! I'd say you're ready since you have all the other basics!!

Just don't go sign up for racing school in Formula Mazda cars or something like that...

You'll get back in the Evo and it'll feel like driving an SUV.

I know that whenever my friends ride with me I tend to ask "does my car feel slower to you?". They always respond by looking at me like I'm stupid.

I've had my Evo since the end of March and just yesterday, I drove my '99 Prelude around for the first time since getting my Evo (putting it up for sale and had to go wash it) and I actually experienced a bit of panic because I thought there was something wrong with the Prelude engine since I seemed to think at one point in time that it was a decently fast car. After getting so accustomed to my Evo, including the delusions that the Evo isn't as fast as it used to be, driving my Prelude felt like there was a little squirrel in the engine bay running a treadmill attached to the wheels! Then getting back in the Evo, it felt like a monster once again.

I constantly complain that the EVO doesn't feel all that quick anymore..

I don't think Bullet time is appropriate.. I think its EVO Time..

Go drive someone elses car for a few days. When you get back into the Evo, you can again fully appreciate the performance. I was driving my gf's Saturn this weekend....Then got into the Evo to go to work this morning and when the turbo hit, my uncontrollable smiling began again.

But seriously, if you were having trouble lifting your hand against the acceleration of the car, you need to go lift some weights and start taking vitamins. It's only like 1g of acceleration....and that should be no harder than lifting your arm in the air when laying on the ground.

SC~
