i just bought my evo umm 3 days ago, and i have been doing a lot of highway driving keeping at consistant RPM which is bad i heard during the break in period? so when i get on the street i've given it maybe 4-5 times red line from 1st to 3rd gear, not launching or anthing out of control so i hope this is ok? also on the highway driving i try to take it up to 80 and then go into nuteral(mispelled) and then bring it back up here and there again. let me know if this is ok?

And to answer your last Wise *** Comment Yes they will Ask Buschur how many people he has helped out in some way even though they have blown motors.
well not to jump on anyones side here but there arent that many 900whp evos out there...i think a more realistic number is 500whp... but yeah im pretty sure that these companies wont just say...hey come pick up your car it blew up on the dyno... but anyway...
you can break in your ride correctly and still blow a motor. you never know

just as long as you arent sitting at a certain RPM too long...let your car breathe a bit. you dont even need to get into alot of boost to see redline. jsut slowly accelerate.
you'll be ok

Your car should see all load and rpm conditions during this period.

Nobody said anything about 'beating' anything.

In my opinion, the car should be mostly babied during the first 1000mi.

I also believe, however, that it is good to bring it up to about redline minus 1000rpm occasionally, say, every 250 miles during break in.

I'm talking about new, unmodified Evos.

I wasn't talking about Buschur backing up his customers. If some newbie Evo owner blows up his new, stock Evo because he heard here that Buschur breaks his in hard, can he call up Buschur and get a new engine free? Of course not. But if you follow Mitsu's break-in and it blows up as a result, Mitsu is responsible. Whether you can get them to pay up or not is another question.

PS. Buy some punctuation.

i would reccommend babying it the first 5 miles...then drive it normally and see what it will do like you would with everyday driving. bounce it off the rev-limiter a few times when u are getting on the onramp as usual. plus if anything broke in the first 50 miles you would know that ure vechile is a defect not 1000 or whatever the factory recomends.

I think your screen name says it all. Break in your car the way Mitsu tells you to and that's what you'll get.

uh....have you guys read the owner's manual...you're not supposed to go above 5000rpms for the first 600 miles....it is bad to go all the way up to redline during break-in....very bad....you're supposed to drive slowly while accelerating(no fast starts)...gradually climbing up the rpms making sure you don't go above 5000...i kept it below 4000 just to be safe....you're rings will seat fine by doing that
