Anyways im not really a fan of leather seats, so ill prolly sell them the day i get the car.
The car just sat in the garage for a year, it has 3k miles, he's pretty well off, lots of high end cars. He dropped about $5-6k into the evo (Avic-N3, JL amp, defi heads up display, w/ oil pressure, fuel pressure, water temp, oil temp, volt, exhaust gas temp, ect. A-pillar Boost and A/F guages. Clifford alam, remote start, turbo timer, ect. All this for $29k, not bad huh? and the wonderful 10year/100k warrenty.
#1 With those mods, the warranty is gone, or will be when you need it.
#2 All those gauges and racing seats and no other mods? BS.
#3 Warranty, even if you could use it, would be reduced to 5/60 for the 2nd owner
#4 If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

That said, if you like the car with the mods, and have it checked carefully, and if it's an MR, and you will be modding the car further anyway, then it's a fine deal if you can afford a car that's expensive to own with no warranty.

Im confused, why would the warrenty be gone with just guages, an alarm and audio eqipment?

There are no other monds physically on the car, do you mean there were mods on the car previously? If so, why would somone mod a car extensively and drive it after break in for 2k then sell it?

If you guys could educate me on this, i would greatly appreciate it.

There is a tuning shop by my house that is partnered with the local mitsu dealership that does tunnning on mainly Evo's. Would that be a good place to have it checked out?

The seller is moving back home to another country so he has to sell it ASAP, and i just happened to respond to it quicker than other, thats why i think its a good deal

A couple things that have bothered me:
1:Supposed stock seats that will be included with the car ar evo 8's and i was told they were IX's
2: There is a chip on the top of the glass on the driver side window, where a burgler tried to break in, but alerted the owner via 2 way clifford and ran off.
3: i had a forum buddy run the carfax and he said it was clean, but i dont have much trust in him. If it was stolen would it show on carfax, and is it that bad of an idea to buy a previously stolen car?

Please get back to me on this, thanks!

yes, this is a bad idea i think, i cant tell u exacly what is wrong with the car, but first of all hes lying about the seats, and he has no reason to lie about the seats, if hes lying about the seats hes probably doing it to cover up something else he really doesnt wanna tell you...and you said a guy checked out the car that u dont really trust....man, this does not sound good......and hes moving over seas so he has to sell it asap, that doesnt sound right either, you dont take a loss like that just because your ready to move over seas...sounds like a crock of crap to me. dont do it man...unless you check the car out personally yourself and make sure 100 percent that its legit....

I'd pass... Consider you can get a new EVO for about the same price (if not an MR, at least you have no warranty worries).

Is he moving to Nigeria? That seems to be scam central these days.

If it was any other brand, I'd say the warranty might be ok, but If you poke around here you'll find Mitsubishi voids entire Evo warranties for the dumbest of reasons:

One SCCA event - void
Cat-back exhaust - void
Turbo boost gauge - void
lowered suspension - void
window tint - void

Sure, these people could fight Mitsubishi in court and eventually win with the exception of the SCCA event, but it seems Mitsubishi would rather face court than pay out warranty claims.

Why would someone need all those gauges and racing seats if it wasn't modded to the brink of disaster? It's probably being sold because something went wrong.

If it looks like a duck, and walks like a duck, and smells like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably...a duck. Carfax only tells you what has been reported, they may not know what happened, and their buyback guarantee only works if the problem was reported, and they then didn't report it to the buyer of the report.
