Passing emissions after mods

With all the mods that everyone has done to their car, has anyone check to see if it will pass their states emission testing? It would really suck after spending all kinds of money on parts to have their vehicle fail. Also would flashing your ecu cause your car to fail after all the mods? I know that I have a few years before I start to worry about this, just curious as to what lies ahead.

Yeah me too. What really concerns me is the reflashing/dynoflashing. The ecu controls all that has to do with emissions, right? A/F ratio, etc, etc.

He's not from california thisX

Likely he wont have to deal with the bull**** we get here.

Senator:
Your local DMV should have the emission laws somewhere where you can look at the actual legality of your modifications. Far as actually passing the sniffer test well thats up to your tuner. For us EcuFlash guys going back to the stock rom is cakewalk if your setup allows for it

Right, I know CA is probably just as notorious as AZ when it comes to emissions. I'll look around for AZ emission laws and post them if anyone else from AZ is curious. I know that eventually I'll get an EcuFlash, if as easy as you say, that's some relief. In AZ they just plug into the OBDII for newer cars.

I don't think a flash/tune has anything to do with emisson testing

See that is one of those engineering words that I don't like to hear. "I don't think", "Should work", "Probably work", or "Suppose to work/not work". But I hope it doesn't effect the flash/tune.

My god i WISH that as CA's policy.

Here its a FULL vehicle inspection for parts, dyno test, sniffer, the freaking works... If your car has any problems passing any inspections it fails.

For you basically handing the guy a 20 and clearing ODBII codes gets you to pass... man i'm sooo envious

Got the link for that you were refering to for a list of full vehicle inspection?

I wish it was as easy as giving the guy a 20 but they have cameras on all the tech stations and make you wait in a booth once you get out of the car.

Sadly, California is the WORST, er, strictest state in the nation when it comes to emissions
