typhoon and turbosmart bov question....

Ever since i put in a k&n typhoon and a turbosmart blow off valve. When I run the car it stalls everytime I shift. When i had the stock intake and bov i had no stalling when i would shift. Oh i also put back the oem bov to see if the car would still be stalling when i shift but it still does. Should I put back all the stock parts and just focus on tuning... Will I get good numbers just on tuning the car with no aftermarket mods..?

Yes go back to your stock set up. You did the two worst mods for an evo. The stock IX dv is great and there is no need to change unless your running crazy high boost ( alky/meth/ Big turbo) And the typhoon is even worse. There are plenty of post on here talking about and warning you about the typhoon. How much did those mods cost you? You could have gotton a flash cheaper and saw a good whp increase

Those aren't even mods, man. You demodded your car by spending $400-500 to send your car backwards down the EVOlutionary chain. Why do people keep buying these parts as their first mods?

Yes, you'll get great power from tuning...and an exhaust...and MBC...

That's tough having the misfortune to acquire the worst two mods available as your first aftermarket purchase. Just toss 'em in the trash bin and next time do some searching first. Wow, really bad luck, Bud.

Damn, I didn't know that they where the worst mods. I together they cost $480 for both or more. I heard about the flash but i was told you only get a certain amount of flashes done to the ecu. So now tomorrow im going to put back on the stock parts.

Well now i know that they aren't mods. I made a mistake on buying those products so now im putting back the stock parts and focus on tunning the car stock and see where i get from that. Do you think the car will still do the same problem with the stock parts on no right. What do you think was going on with the aftermarket parts.?

it's not the problem with the aftermarket parts ! ..
its your choice of mods that u bought
K&N typhoon is the worst intake ever for the Evo ! .. you will lose whp ! Def !..
plus a bov is also bad ! you got the MR so u must have the steal MR bov ! which is the best BOV out there ! ..

you might just use the filter !

No, of course you won't have these problems when it's back to stock. Whoever scared you about the flash should not be listened to again.

It's true what Warr says...don't trash 'em! The BOV should be easy to sell. Many people want the Turbosmart. You should go back to your stock MR DV to eliminate the drivablity problems and ultimately make your car easier to tune. BOV's which vent to the atmosphere cause discrepancies with the MAF sensor readings.

The K&N should be taken off the market. Remove it and sell it as an "as new" part. Then go back to the stock air filter, which is good up to 400WHP, and causes no drivability issues. Then get your ECU flashed.
