the first guy suggested doing a boost leak test. A boost leak test should be the first thing you do to diagnose engine problems(unless they're obvious) since they can cause so many issues. Poor idle, excessive taper, rich afrs(or lean at idle) to name a few. Do a boost test.

Not surprising, considering your taper is normal for a IX.

Yes, IXs taper more than VIIIs due to the MIVEC pushing more through the head than the turbo can keep up with. You still make lots more power than an VIII maintaining 19psi - people spend WAY too much time worrying about "boost taper" and too little time worrying about how the car actually performs (i.e. track and dyno).

People claim that all the time. If they show you MAP sensor logs of their IXs with 20psi at 7000rpm, then you can believe it. If and when that happens, please post them here for me to see...

if it performed poorly at the track, then log it next time to see what your AFRs and timing are doing all the way through 4th.

I didn't say it would be the tune - that's another thing that people automatically assume. Just because the car may be running poorly, it doesn't mean it's because of the tune. Tracking the AFRs and timing is not for determining the quality of the tune - it's for finding symptoms of why you're not running as well as YOU expect (if that's the case). It may end up pointing to the tune, but don't assume that up front.
