one way to get more bang for your buck, is buy used parts
i got tons of used parts on my car, no big deal i run a 12 flat killing the tires off the line,
at a track that runs approxamently 2 tenths of a sec slower than any track
used parts are not a bad thing,it all depends on your mine set

I would shy away from guessing your WHP and trying to plan mods for 3 years down the road, although it can't hurt to be prepared.

Skip the K&N drop in and HKS RS intake. The drop in is worthless and the RS is overly expensive. Get a adapter and open element K&N filter, ($60 total @ AMS)

Get any ebay/megan racing o2 housing for as cheap as possible, they all seem to work the same. (<$100) Combine that with any 3" turbo back exhaust you want, it all comes down to style and sound preference ($500-2000). Keep the stock manifold, they are proven to make great power.

Get a AMS/Buschur/Nisei lower intercooler pipe. (~$200)

The forge unos is good ($90) but Im not a big fan of the autometer gauges, then again it comes down to style preference.

Get a custom flash, thats the best way to do things. ($400-600)

Open element intake - 60
o2 housing - 100
TBE - ~700
LICP - 200
Unos - 90
boost guage - ~150
custom flash - ~500

Looking at around 1800 all said and done and should make 330-350whp. Listen to me and/or warrtalon. You shouldn't need an upgraded fuel pump for just a stage 1 evo

Boltz I wouldn't say not to get the fuel pump, and i don't think Warr means "not to get it" but not to get it by itself. Just to get the pump and nothing else really doesn't help anything. I think Warr means , if he gets it to get it with the package so it will have a purpose. The pump is kinda like insurance.

I dont think its posible to gain 110-120HP from exhaust + filter (and a safe tune). Look at Bushur or AMS racing stages - they dont gain over 100whp from a stage 1 car... it took me similar mods + cams to gain 100+whp

An Evo IX with stage 1 (exhaust/filter/tune) is pretty potent! Close to 400hp crank. Local tune, buschur, ams, vishnu, whatever you think.

Your money could go a lot further elsewhere, speeddemon. Suffice it to say you won't be a speed demon afterwards.

True, I think the Buschur/Warrtalon EVO IX Stage 1 will get you all you need. Plus those crazy wheel balancers at mitsubishi put clip on weights on the outsides of the wheels, so once you swap tires there will most likely be scratches or marks on the wheels. Plus, they don't make you go any faster (noticeably, anyways)

That depends entirely upon what you're trying to achieve. Are you just looking for max HP and lowest quarter mile ET? Or do you want to track the car? Do you autocross? Or do you want the best all-around car you can get? Is it your daily driver, a garage queen, or a weekend warrior?

I don't want to void the warranty immediately... if something turns out to be defective I'd like to know before I start implementing significant mods.
I'd work on the suspension first, then. Unless you're just interested in drag racing, in which case I'd think about intake and exhaust first.

Don't put on an open element filter. just a drop in will be fine. I agree, though, that suspension makes a huge difference. plus, you don't really know the car until you autocross it and really push the limits of the stock engine and suspension.

wow plans into 2009 already? you'll probly change your mind a million times before then, so don't bother planning that far advance...

Just do the Buschur/Warrtalon pkg to start. OR.... $2797.00 on candy pearl gold flake paint and $3.00 on an air freshener. both will get you poon
