Hi I live in Los Angeles and my family and I are planning a trip to visit Utah which is about 12 hours drive one way. What do you guys check on before departing for your long trip? and is it recommended to have the car check up right after your back from your trip?

I was thinking about buying a Hybrid coz the Evo gas consumption is killing me, I'm not used to fillin up the tank every 2 days sometimes everyday oh well I'm luving coz this car rockssss!!!

longest in the evo is only 4 hours round trip. longest ever was in a LOWERED 99 eclipse. from where i live now ( cape girardeau, MO ) to san onofry state beach ( spelling is ? ) in california and back. approx 2300 miles out to california ( went through southern texas on the way out there ) and 1900 miles back to missouri. WORST idea i have ever had. did the trip in 5 days total. about 4 miles from my apartment, i decided to spray the nitrous. ( motor was fully built NON-TURBO 420a on an automatic tranny spraying 125 wet shot ) hehe. threw the belt off the power steering. damn near lost it off the road.

morale of the story..... kids, DONT TRY THIS AT HOME.

I dated a lady in Colorado and drove there often. The funny thing about it, all the time I was making these trips I had cruise waiting in the box on my workbench. It is finally on and works great.

As for the lady in Colorado, our second wedding anniversary is next month.

South Coast Mitsubishi to West Point, Ga (1 hour southwest of ATL). 2600 miles. Took me about 3 days but it was all worth it. Didn't even mind the numb rear after only the first 3 hours. Cruise control? Who needs it!!! Weather was great the whole way and what better way to break in your brand new Evo! Of course I did stop quite a bit to exercise the tranny during break in but I had to do it properly...

I've gone from CT to SC almost GA. 17 hours non-stop with traffic. 13 hours coming back. I'll be taking the car out to Buschur in the spring hopefully so there's another 10+ hours.

I don't have an Evo, and still won't by next time this year, but I'm already making plans for a 7-8 hour drive to the "Dragon." I can't wait!

Dallas to Tucson.

More enjoyable than in my buddy's Galant despite the lack of Cruise. Even saw another IX on the way.

Been to canada, twice - 8 hours with 2 stops. Been to Tennesse twice, 2 stops - 11 hours.
All from NJ. Not a single problem, awesome ride - no backache/arm/elbow/knee/foot/headache (!). Got close to 30 mpg on the trips to Canada... average of 28mpg to Tennessee

i'm looking at a 3 1/2hr trip to my parents for xmas on the 25th. only got 160miles on the car right now. i'm mainly worried about the paper plates and getting harrased by the law on HWY 59. we'll see.

Upstate New York to New Mexico. 22 hours of driving on a bone stock IX MR. Best gas mileage I got was 27 mpg with 600 lbs of crap in the back of my car. Worst was 20 mpg when I started stepping on the loud pedal some more trying to hurry up and get through Texas.

How many recruiters drive Evos? My brother is a recruiter and he has an Evo, another buddy of mine is a recruiter and he has an Evo. My brother drove his to Arkansas for a school and back to Virginia. Didn't have any problems or complaints. Said cruise control would have been nice. I drove mine home from where I bought it in Atlanta back to TN. (5hrs or so). No complaints. Really enjoy the car.
