Defi Warranty Issues...

Has anyone had any problems with 1) Their BF gauges failing, and 2) Defi denying the claim. I had my Defi BF Imperial boost gauge for about 6 months and it just died. Worked one morning on the way to work, and when I came out it never turned on again.

So I sent it back to Ravspec where I bought it, and 2 months later (today) I find out that Defi denied the warranty. I guess there's a capacitor in there that went bad due to voltage fluctuations?. How the crap do you deny that? AND, it's the 2nd gauge in the chain, and the first one is still functioning fine (oil press.). So I call TOTAL BS on that.

So Ravspec said they'll continue to fight it as they tested the gauge there and saw the same problem. What a bunch of crap. I'll never, ever, ever buy anything Defi again. This is pathetic for how much they charge for that sh*t and this is the kind of service I get.

I'm so totally pissed right now...

Well folks, this has turned into a blowout... The distributor, EDO Performance, is denying my warranty claim altogether. They claim that basically I broke the gauge. They gave me grief (citing sections E,F,G of the manual) about mounting positions, and stating that I didn't take care of it. The lady on the phone was like, "Well, there's a scratch on the face." My response- it wasn't like that when I sent it to ya'll THREE MONTHS ago!!" How can I possibly be repsonsible for how TWO shops have handled this gauge now, plus being shipped around by them. She also tried to use the fact that I didn't send in the sensor or the mounting cup. #1) I'm not gonna tear my car apart to pull the sensor out since it's my daily driver. #2) I don't think the sensor is bad or could send a voltage spike that would fry a gauge. And mounting cup? C'mon...there's a very small percentage of folks who actually use that, I told her it was in a pod like just about everyone else out there.

I have now sent an e-mail to Defi directly to plead my case. What I want to know is...has anyone else had their boost gauge go out on them in under a year?
