Look for someone here on the forums thats selling their JDM DV. I bought one off a local guy here who just traded in his Evo and was parting it out and i picked up his DV for 60 bucks. Good luck man and just check over all the connections. Or just get an AEM EMS and keep the HKS....

yes, but if you read that entire DIY mod thread it is mentioned if you tap the hole that is drilled then install a nipple and run a hose to the uicp you will solve the surge issue for daily driving. Then if you go tho the track you can just take the hose off the bov and plug the uicp back up and viola, you have a stock IX dv thatll hold 30+ psi

Put the Stocker Back, My freinds stocer holds 23 psi, IDK how it does but it does. He got an air cone even though i told him it was stupid and you hear the recirculation pretty loud, I got to admitt it does sound kinda cool. But yeah performance first.

I have a brand new stock JDM MR BOV,

I swapped it out for a APS dual port BOV, and by the way, no stalling issues and runs smooth just like STOCK BOV.

Yeah, any bov other than stock BOV could/will cause problems, but through intensive research on the forums, I determined that the APS BOV is by far the best.

Yes others will say that other brands are better, and I wouldnt doubt it, but I went by majority of vote since im a newb at this stuff.

If you want something very discreet in sound, id go APS, try to find one, they retail for 300.00 i believe, I got mine for 130.00 on here 6 mos old.

It sounds really good and first and foremost, IT DOESNT SOUND STUPID ANNOYING

do what you wish, many people prefer the stock BOV due to its known/proven fact that its really the 100% safest option

No, the APS is not the best and certainly not BY FAR the best. First of all, if you vent AT ALL, then you are decreasing performance. If you don't vent at all, then there's no reason to have it instead of a JDM MR DV - not worth the extra cash when you already have an awesome DV that works perfectly, because if you're going to spend the extra cash, then you get a Forge RS, because the RS's adjustment knob is for stiffness, not for determining how much rice there is (APS).

Speaking of the AEM I should just get my car tuned. When I get it tuned I should have them lean out idle. The idle problems are caused by the fact that the ecu is expecting the BOV air to be rcirced, if its VTA then the car just run rich at the bottom end. I could just tune that out with my ECU+ couldnt I?

This has nothing to do with the idle. The re-circulation only comes into play when you reach boost and or the air is dumped (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Putting more money into this problem is a waste.

trying to tune for it wont help the situation........just get rid of it and buy one of the two proven BOV's suggested throughout this thread - stock IX/JDM MR or Forge RS

You CANT go wrong with either, both hold boost great and will not cause surge, idle issues etc.....

Now if your really hell bent on keeping your HKS cause it sounds cool or whatever go standalone or blowthrough. Like I said before thats an expensive fix but hey, its your money.

I like that idea, i will look for one. My biggest problem is that I have aftermarket UPIC that has a flange for the HKS. I dont think that the stock IC piping will fit because of my bigger IC and the intake that I have. What should I do about that?
