That's a pretty gd policy.

I would never do that. I would feel like the one getting stiffed if I was the seller.

I dont know if I would do that policy, although it make sense. Because buyers can be just as bad as sellers.

In most cases you pay a business for a product.

If you want to do a half now and half later i suggest using a third party escrow.

You can pay the escrow, once your receive the item (using a tracking number of course), you let the escrow know that you are satisfied, then they release your money to the seller.

But in the end try and use references, because people will always be able to cheat no matter what.

Paypal is very helpful in situations like these. Just file a complaint with them, and if that doesn't work get your bank involved and they will start hassling paypal. Someone just took $420 from my paypal account and I filed a complaint and got the money back in a week. My bank told me that if I didn't get the money back soon that they would handle it.

File a complaint with paypal immediately. If they can they will seize the funds from the sellers bank account and start a case on it.

Unfortunately if they can't get any money out of the losers bank account you may be SOL.

Consider that it IS the holidays. That doesn't excuse the delay in getting back to you, but it's entirely possible it might be holiday related. Either way, good luck working this out.

When I do business though I always want a phone call and I will freely give my address and everything to make sure the other party has my info. Ebay is a different story but buying things off a forum where the forum rules cant help you....its buyer beware unfortunately.

hey guys, i've just posted on the FS forums and then read this post. i'm asking for a money order first, then i send the goods. is this not exceptable?? i've done some ebay sells and buys this way. i'm very straight forward and will have a phone number, address, email etc.... for the person to contact me. i'm just trying to figure out a fair way to sell some parts on this board without making waves. thanks for any help.

haha not if you want to sell. think about it. Someone is gonna send you a money order and then you send the goods? so if you dont send the goods who is the person going to contact to get his money back.

I do not send anything unless I am paid first and I use paypal so there is a record and a way to legally dispute.

i understand the fact that people are worried about internet transactions. i guess a paypal account would suit people better. thanks for the feedback.

I am pretty sure paypal won't do ***t about it.
you are correct sir, i got into it with paypal a few months back. suposedly i never sent an item to someone i was selling, but when i read them the shipping number fromi UPS and everything. they still said i was at fault and they couldnt help me. i guess it turned out that it was a scam, but that goes to show you what type of service they are.
