Are you using the parking brake? Every time I wash my car and set the parking brake it locks up (my drive way is slopped so it's the only time I use it). Have to pop clutch to get it free. One time I parked the car for 2 months and holly sh*t was it hard to move.

Go forward! I found it broke free easier

I dont think you'd what to get that stuff on the pads, can you have someone else use there car to pull you backwards with a tow strap? Maybe enough so that you have more room in front of you to try going forward? Try rocking the car.

My VIII does this alot. It is worst if you wash the car, pull it in the garage and let it sit through the weekend.

When you try to back up it totally feels like something is locked up. I will ususally try to roll forward just a little, then try and back up.

When it does break free you will hear a little noise.

The brake pads have some metal in them and the rotors rust really quickly (good material).

My car will also do this after driving in heavy rain and then parking overnight.

Just another Evo quirk!

Nothing to stress about...its just the parking brake sticking after being released. Happens if they get wet and sit for a while!

When I was trying to isolate what was going on I washed the car, parked it in the garage and put a block behind the wheels and left the parking brake off.

Still did it the next day, it only happens on my car if the rotors and brakes are really wet when you park it.

Just my $.02

If it really bothers you drive the car around the block after you wash it before you park it.
