Have you actually tried picking up the phone and calling works?

At Works, of course.

FYI, it costs $400+ (not much less than cams or alky injection), makes less power than an $80 SS o2, and requires a DP with a 3" flange opening.

Built "better"? Not sure what makes it built "better," but it does use the bracket, but that doesn't matter unless you choose to use a crack-prone tubular manifold that makes less power than the ported stock - and that is not a reason to spend $400.

no it does not require a 3inch down pipe. you can use it with the stocker if you want to.

and no it does not require a 3 inch flange opening d/p eather. they send you what is needed to make it work with the stock downpipe or any downpipe that will bolt up to the stock o2housing. make sence. probly not but all you need to know when getting this part is it will most likly work as long as your d/p now bolts the the stock o2 housing. and provided works sends the part needed to make it happen.

Get the Invidia 2.9" o2 housing. It is also cast. It comes with a bracket that was designed for extra stability and support. It also includes the o2 sensor bung already welded in. This unit only cost $200.

I was one of the truly first customers to get one 3"o2 housing from works installed on my car.

It requires their 3"downpipe to make it work. I got mine for a special price but it was still very pricey. I got mine cheaper because I was on the waiting list for over a year.

I never increase significant power or torque. I suggest what Warrtalon told you, get yourself a set of cams or Alky, they will yield much much more power/tq per dollar spent. At first, the Works o2 hosuing was perhaps the most wanted item for anyone keeping the stock turbo, later on it was demonstarted that even smaller o2 housings were yielding even better results, in fact some Ebay $80 were outperforming other ones.

Your other option is to get a cheaper one. As far is getting the works, you can get them directly from them(worksracing). You have a few paths, you can go and buy the Works and spent $400 plus or you can listen to people like me that already went that path.

I don't want to give the wrong impression, I truly believe Works put the most R&D on this 02 Housing, perhaps more than anyone else but ultimately I believe the stock turbo works well with even 2.5" generic 02 housings.

My .2c

Carlos
