I have an evo7 and I Live in the caribbean....i know there are plenty of aftermarket parts out there for my car, but they all come from japan and are usually very costly.so i always said that i'd wait until the evo7 reaches the states...then prices would drop.

now since the evo8 has hit the states aftermarket parts are coming out one after the other and the prices seem reasonable..
i just wanted to make sure before i buy any parts that they will work on my car..

besides for the obvious difference in the shape of the evo 8 ..is everything else the same as in the 7???for example...all engine parts/suspension/electronics

yeah what do you think are the chances of them bringing the 7 to the states? that would be sweet but right now the only way to get one is from www.evolutionimports.net i would love to have one but im gona wait for a while.

i doubt that they would bring it now that the 8 is out....

Most if not all of the changes from 7 to 8 are mentioned above.

 

There are significant differences in ECU mapping. I have recently been led to believe that there are also differences in the motor's internal design (cooling passages and other things). Not sure what all the differences are but there are people here trying to quantify the exact differences. It requires a comparison of the technical service manuals and parts lists from both models to be sure.

So some things will work, and some may not. Same situation we are faced with in trying to determine exactly how much from the Evolution VII will work with the US Lancer Evolution.
