One thing I figured out about thieves, (after they broke into my Talon with a $50 dollar stereo and took the faceplate), is that they will still anything! I don't think its all about stealing sometimes, it is the satisfaction of breaking in, and pissing people off...

 

That's disgusting. I feel like beating whomever did that into a coma with a cricket bat.

I can, this is pretty typical of the "joy-ride" type of car thieves that infect New Jersey. Had this experience before with a 5.0, "back in the day." Elizabeth, Newark, the Oranges are all pretty bad areas. I am surprised you would take an EVO there, honestly. Get a beater, not that they will not steal that too. Make sure it some old crappy domestic. Not a Honda or Acura. You are probally lucky they could not get it started. Otherwise it may have been completely trashed. Sorry to hear, but Jersey sucks.
