"Don't Try To Run," was the name calling really necessary? It was all a misunderstanding, and I doubt he meant any offense by it. Please edit your post by deleting that offensive word.

What's with the name-calling? Seeing how I've witness you weasel out of your own words by citing an event seemingly drawn from your imagination, you'll have to excuse me if I don't believe a word you say. The fact remains that you have no Evo, yet you see fit to jump into any thread you like and add a comment that amounts to wishful thinking. Hell, I've even seen you recommend a transmission rebuilding service with absolutely no personal experience to back it up. Other folks have also commented on your ludicrous behavior with no effect. I just hope that you find a measure of reality and leave discussions like these to people who have something relevant to share.

I've looked at this product. The factory flap is only a few bucks more and I'm more comfortable with choosing it, if I take that route. If one needs a flap in a color other than black or silver, the aftermarket alternative seems like a good option.

Please, enough with the bullsh!t.

You're a high school kid who doesn't know how to drive a manual transmission, and now you supposedly owned an Evo? Your automatic 02 Passat, originally purchased new by your dad, is the first and only car you've had. Let's have a brief look at some of your comments:

Also, the guy seems very nice. Just talked to him on the phone and reserved it. I still havnt mastered to drive stick (im 18, first car was an auto VW Passat GLX) so im going to finish learning on here and then replace the clutch?

Currently I drive a pretty new 2002 VW Passat GLX (higher end version). I am very familiar with my car, and i know that i am going to be paying VERY HIGH maintence bills coming up (approaching 40k service and 60k service). I am wondering, now that I have a well paying job and am wanting much more of a sport car with much more pickup/acc/speed... Do you think the evo is right for me? The passat was my first car, handed down to me from my Dad as he paid for it new. I've had it for about a year, and am a very good driver and so on...

Thanks for the comments very much. And yes, I have a little bit of extra cash hanging around and im thinking about modding my passat (I modded it a little). However, even after putting 15-20k min into it, im still under 300 WHP, which is pathedic. I understand completely that the interior is not as nice.. but hell, im 16, almost 17. How bad would my insurence rate go up. Right now it's at 490/6 months for my passat. And yes, I pay it, not my parents, lol. I pay for everything. I have no tickets, no accidents, live in a great low crime area (suberbs of chicago) and definitely want to upgrade my car.. But the Evo MR looks so damn nice... :-)

Trust me, I've mastered the Passat. I actually got my license on my birthday and have been driving ever since... Already have drove 20,000 miles. That's not including the 75+ hours I've drove with my permit and all of that crap...
Let's briefly review:

You got your license on your birthday, you've been driving for a little over a year, you don't really know how to successfully use a
manual gearbox, and the Passat is the only one you've owned. The timeline, alone, doesn't point to you ever having owned an Evo.

Anyone willing to lose a few hours of his life can read through your past posts and witness a pattern of behavior. For whatever reason you seem to feel that it's perfectly alright to further total falsehoods and fabricate events in the sole hope of bettering your position.

I did a back to back run and really noticed no difference (in truth, I didn't notice it at all). In the grand scheme of things how much time does one spend looking in the rearview?

I own an EVO (yippy) and the Gurney Flap does not impact rear visibility. That said, the wing itself does block (for me) police lights, which is a real PITA. So per all of the other comments from intelligent evo owners -- keep the wing and keep the gurney flap (mine came with the MR zero lift kit).

Done....PS -- Dan would probably love to know that this is how his name is being used.

ummm...I'm 18 years old and I'm a senior in high school... and I drive a GG IX SE...so it's possible

other than that...

I had my stock wing for a day, and after that the dealer called me in and told me they had my VG and GF...after they gave it to me I installed it at home with my dad and I have no issues seeing out the rearview mirror...it's only about 1/2 inch or so, and you cant really see that dramatic of a change...it's pretty much driving like the stock wing IMO.

The stock wing blocks so much out that the gurney does little to add to that blocked field of view. You won't any have issues with it on your car FJF.

The height of the stock wing is horrible when you're looking out for cops. One thing I dislike about the Evo.
