Rear visibility with Gurney flap

As I'm leaning toward keeping my wing, I thought I'd embrace the concept and install the Gurney flap for added downforce. I am very concerned about rear visibility that's already limited by the wing, itself. I'd especially like to hear from folks who've been able to compare the rear visibility with and without the flap. TIA

Good for additional downforce...no impact to visibility....Also Dan Gurney's was much more significant ....

Gurney flap maybe 1/2 an inch high does not block vision.

I added the Gurney flap but then removed it. I felt that the downforce added did not offset the slight visibility loss. I am happier now with the stock setup.

that makes no sense. that thing is so small, you can barely even see it. that big thing blocking your view was the wing.

lol.

I have a Cerious performance CF evo VIII wing on my lancer. the center section is about three times as thick as a stock oem wing and the drop invisiblity doesnt bother me at all coming from a stock OZ wing. It did take a couple days to get used to but like was said, a 1/2" strip isnt gonna make any difference. imo

If you don't mind, I'd like to hear from folks who actually own Evos and who have some personal experience to share.

I wish I were that confident. I affixed a ~1/2" strip to the wing in hopes of checking the rear visibility for myself, and could not come to a defined conclusion in a static environment. I started the thread in hopes of hearing from folks who've driven with the flap and are able to compare its impact on visibility to a flap-less wing. I can speculate just fine by myself.

well. I guess the point I was trying to make in my post is that I have an evo VIII wing. Its an aftermarket replica and the center section is much thicker then oem. I would say it would block more area then oem with gurney flap and it doesnt bother my rear vision. Hope that makes more sense then my original post. Im not exactly speculating.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. How would you gauge the added loss in visibility? You described it as "slight." Would it be fair to assume that its impact is small, yet noticeably obtrusive?
