custom paint or more horsepower?

well deciding on 2 things to do very soon

A. built motor,ported head and intake mani,alky,spring & retainers
B. Top Secret Gold paint job

1.the evo right now is sanded down and primered ready for paint.
2.it has 418awhp on straight 92 right now,so i have decent HP.

so either paint the car and dont build motor just yet,or leave it primered and build 2.0L

P.S. any evo guys in hawaii chiming in dont bother ive heard it all before, blah blah blah this and that...stop hating ( if in hawaii and dont personally know me,message not for you)

heres a dyno vid to get a look at the car..(it has gunmetal with chrome lip volks now)

You can get decent paint on your car for ~$500USD. Granted, that's not a fancy color, and that involves you doing most of the work.

Ontop of that, imho, unless it was a track car, I wouldn't be putting more than 400 horsies under the hood anyways. That's just me though.

don't be a ricer; instead of sticking out or getting noticed for the color of your car you can get noticed for how fast it is duh.

power iss very importany to me but if your car is primered i would get a paint job first. i would not be caught dead driving a primed evo around. if the paint now is fine then of course i would go for power.

if anything just get a cheep $500 normal color paint job then go spend money on the motor

its just too sad and pathetic to drive a primered evo

If the car is in primer, you need to paint it soon anyway. You have 418hp so you got some power to back it up. With that being the case, I would opt for the best paint job you can afford in a color that is not a normal EVO color. If you do it now and do it right, you wont be sorry and have to spend more money to do it over again later. Tehn you can move onto more engine mods once the bank account recovers. Thats what I did.
Spent 2 weeks last year in Hawaii, couldn't find any EVO's anywhere. Talked to a guy in a white STI. Good luck with your decision.
