if I get pulled over.....

If I get pulled over and I'm running the road race rally cat which looks like a legit cat and I pass a visual inspection but I don't pass the heat test...will they still write a citation for no cat or just a fix it ticket? Thanks guys sorry for so many test pipe threads but I don't want a 1500 dollar fine nor do you :]

cops almost never do visual inspections, if they do its like 2 % of them, and they most certainley will not get under the car and see how hot it gets to determine if its a legal cat or not thats just ridiculous,

what they do is send you to the state ref, then you just go home swap in your stock cat in 10 min, and get your ref ticket signed off and pay a 10 dollar fee, then keep the papers on you that the state ref gives you that varified your exhaust was legit, and show them to any cop that pulls you over and quetsions you again,

even with the papers they might send you to the state ref, oh well another 10 dollar fine and 2 hours of your life wasted.

I see your in cali like me. Worst case senario you are ordered to visit a smog ref. Your options are: Spend 20 minutes bolting up the stock cat. or pay a fine. Its not a huge deal. Just dont be stupid on the highway, and your chances of being caught running catless or highflow are pretty slim.

Just tell them the Downpipe is the Cat, thats a pretty hot area. Or say the Heatsheild is VERY effecient. IDK just BS your way out of it. Thats what i would do. BTW here In jersey if your get cought without a Cat, its a $3000 fine, and then they ask you who removed the cat if you can't provide a persons name its an aditional $5000 So $8000 plus some jail time, for removing the converter yourself.
