i understand what you mean sonic. what size is it?

i can't justify paying 10-14 dollars for an NPT adaptor that i can get at home depot for 25c. and those 45 angle adaptors are cheap too! HOWEVER, if it's BSPT, it may be worth it to buy them. bspt is much more difficult to come across.

i just checked, and one of them should be 3/8BSPT and the other should be 1/2BSPT, reduced to 1/8NPT or course...or whatever you need. you will need a right angle fitting for the oil pressure, so make sure you get that...teflon tape is your friend.

Yep! I figured it would be nice to let the general public know so everyone doesn't have to pay $20 friggin bucks for a silly threaded "adaptor". Oh well, I ended up just going to the pick one up from 42 draft designs for $14.00. Works good though! NOTE: It is better to use Black RTV on threads that might come in contact with oil, black rtv is oil resistant and teflon tape isn't =)

Both plugs on above the oil filter housing are 3/8" BSPT. The adapters for them are hard to come across at your local hardware store. I bought the adapters from 42draftdesigns, but since I decided to do some extra stuff with these ports, I needed a different style of adapter. So I found some stuff here.

http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/

Here is a link directly to the adapters to guys need (06-02 is the one you want for 3/8" BSPT Male to 1/8" NPT Female):

http://www.discounthydraulichose.com...042-parent.htm

As you can see not cheap here either. But you can see you can get some uncommon stuff here. I even found an adapter to fit to the oil pan drain plug (14mm x 1.5 BTW )to adapt to NPT. Sweet.

Hope this help someone.

Oh and get brass for stuff like this for sure. Brass is softer than aluminum and pipe threads seal by deforming the threads. Brass on aluminum; brass deforms. Steel on aluminum; aluminum deforms. Don't get steel. I've heard of aluminum fittings but they are even more uncommon and you'll have less of a selection on different fittings.

BSPP is not the same as BSPT. British Standard Parallel Pipe (BSPP) is a straight thread with a sealing washer. British Standard Pipe Thread (BSPT) is similar to NPT but not interchangeable.

McMaster-Carr is your friend. I'm also going about installing an oil pressure/temp gauge so I knew I would find them for you.

Part # 4092K13
Description: 3/8" male BSPT x 3/8" female NPT, 316 Stainless Steel
Price: $18.04

Then just get an adapter to get from your hose end to that 3/8" NPT.

that looks similar to the one i found, but i prefer working with MC. my sending unit is already 3/8" female NPT, so i'm good to go.

**edit. my oil temp sending unit is 1/8" NPT. so it looks like i have to do a 3/8" BSPT to 3/8" adapter and then that 3/8 to a 1/8" female NPT. jesus that's gonna look like crap.
