4G64 - isn't that the spyder GT engine?

Here's the spec differences - just get a caliper and measure the engine and it should answer your question for ya.

Edit: Of course since it's supposedly "stroked" the measurements will be different from a stock 4g63. IMO don't accept anything you buy with ANY identifying marks scraped off! It could be stolen, etc.

The 4G64 which is 2.4 liters is found in the 00' and up Galants, outlanders...the evo head bolts right up to this. So even if it is a 4G64 it will work. Not a bad mistake if this is so.....factory 2.4 liter iron block...fits right in the evo...?

If I decided to keep this, which is my only choice at this point, is it safe to assume that if I buy a head gasket for a 00+ Galant, that it will fit properly? I would go towards an HKS one, if thats the case. I think a 1994 Galant was a 4g64 as well, will a head gasket from that fit?

^^^Check it out forsure. I thought the 4G64 was 2000 and up? But if not, measure the cylinder and then go to mitsu, ask the parts guy to take a look at one inhand.

line up your water pump on the block. if it doesn't fit right then you got a 4g64.

Head gasket must clear bore. It will work, but for a limited time untill the gasket gets baked enough to give up.
