I called first...and if you call you eventually get a person and when I gave the lady the ticket number she responded with there is nothing she can because there must be visual proof the tint is removed and pictures are no good

I took the tint off my front windows already...no big deal but it is still gay

on the other hand I got a "noisy muffler" ticket too and she said I just have to pay a fine

but the court appearance box was checked also

whattttteverrrrrrr

kinda ot but does anybody know what the fine is in NY? I got pulled over for my tints last week on my way up to Hamilton (upstate New York) and the officer just gave me a ticket and a deposition, no mention of a fine or a fix-it. He just told me to send it in with the box checked next to guilty...i didn't even think he could pull me over for that since I'm out of state...

I got ticketed a month ago for illegal tint in the front (50%). I haven't gotten the ticket in the mail yet but here in California you can 1) pay a small fee of $10 or so, have the tint removed and then have a CHP officer sign off on it. You then send the proof into the court 2) pay the fine and keep the tint. However, if you opt for #2 and get pulled over again for tint your fine goes way up. It can quickly get into the hundreds of dollars. So I think I'll have it removed, have an officer sign off on it, and then take it in to get it redone. I think this'll wipe the slate clean.

Wouldn't what you plan on doing be the same as paying the fine a second time even if it was $$$ something?

Your gonna pay to have the tint removed, and then pay to have them re-tinted. I don't know how much you get charged for your tint, but mine was a little over $200 if I remember correctly..

it might be different in michigan, but here in georgia the cops can write you a ticket( I recieved one for my 5% all the way around) went to court and asked the judge how they determine if it is illegal and the judge stated police officers use a tint-o-meter which determines the tint level. I stated to the judge that no meter was used and officer admitted no meter was used and the ticket was thrown out

In California you can have any tint you want on the rear window and the two rear side windows. I have 15% on those. It's the windshield and/or the front windows that cannot have any tint on them. All I would need to do is get the two fronts removed, signed off on and re-tinted at $25 a piece. And I need to find out whether or not having it removed and signed off on wipes the slate clean. If it doesn't then I'll have it removed and keep it off. Then maybe I'll just get a couple of those roll-a-blinds

50% is allowed in OH....I think the car comes off the factory with 50%. Our Evos do, I think. It's not typical tint though, but did you notice how glassy our windows are?

No, I'm pretty sure I could get away with that.. but I'll pay the fine this time, and if it happens again I will do that. Because yes, they are SUPPOSED to used meter's, but they NEVER do... easy way out.

I remember window tint wasn't that big of an issue here, but one officer got shot through the window (it was tinted) when he pulled some crackhead over...They went nuts after that.
