Windshield Wipers w/a mind of their own.

Alright guys I have a problem with the car and i'm looking for some help/insite.

For the past few days my windshield wipers have had a mind of there own. They would turn on randomly, turn off randomly, sometimes would not work at all, etc..
Now I didn't think this was a big deal, and I was going to take it to the dealer whenever I had a chance.

Well this morning I go to the bank, come back to the car and it won't start. All electronics turn on (stereo, radar, lights, etc..) but the car would not crank, at all. I try a few more times, nothing just silent. So I call mitsu's wonderful emerg. roadside assitance and about the get charged $180 for a tow to the dealership where I bought my car.

While i'm waiting I go and try again, and the car turns on. I have no idea what could be wrong with it (fuses, grounding wires)? Any input would be helpful, thanks.

Dead battery... I had a motorized radio that started acting out like that (turning on and off opening and closing on its own). The very next day the car wouldnt crank although everything came on, I found that my battery was dead and unable to hold charge.

How would everything still come on with a dead battery? I'll go to autozone today and test the battery. I'll let you know if that was the case.

The battery may have enough charge to power peripherals (lights and small electronics) but it may not be enough to crank the engine.

Just got back from autozone and the battery is fine. Voltage Reg. is at about 14.6 and battery idle around 1300+. And now my windshield wipers have not been working for the majority of the day. Well I guess i'll take it into Mistu tomrrow morning.

I've heard of alternators creating crazy symptoms like this.

Check your wires near the steering wheel. The tilt may be pinching something there.

Have you worked on anything related to the electrical system lately? Alarm? Turbo timer?

Worked on anything where you might have damaged some wires?
Welded on the car?
Had it repaired from an accident?

It's probably your relay for your wiper. Check your fuse.

My rear wiper acts up similarly. It will turn on (by command) right when I start my car but then doesnt work for the rest of the day. Only once. Sometimes it quits in the middle of a cycle, then doesnt work for the rest of the day. I took it and they said it was a loose connection. Maybe you have some wires grounding out somewhere...
