Unhappy

378 on the odo and I'm having 2nd/3rd geaar issues. It's notchy and grinds going into both gears back to back. I have to wait a sec before putting it into gear. I'm driving it according to Mitsu's break-in procedure. I'm hoping it will go away once it's broken in, but doubt that for some reason. Will keep you posted.

I've got ~21K miles on my IX and I'm not having any troubles to speak of with my tranny. I'm only pushing 406 bhp at the moment.

no problems at all with my tranny, 17,000 on the ticker. Of course it is a bit notchy when the tranny is cold which is normal, but its smooth in all the gears once it is warmed up.

It seems notchy going into any gear, but I think it is more the shifter than anything else.

My IX tranny has given me no problems at all, it's hard to shift on very cold days but that's all.

Well my transmission is smooth as butter.. Not notchy at all. On my 2 previous evos it was very notchy but it went away with time. I do however have trouble going into 5th sometimes(no grinding)

Im looking more on this pole for grinding issues not notchiness

21.4% answered yes to the poll...that's unusually high! I was expecting far less than that.

I don't think that percentage is indicative of problems, per say. It's what some perceive as problems, which isn't necessarily accurate or realistic.

Mine was a bit notchy 2nd to 3rd for about 4k miles.. smoothed out after that. The car has 15k on it and about 1k miles ago I devloperd the 4th to 5th grind over 5k rpms.

It's at the dealership right now having ALL the syncro's replaced and a new type of tranny fluid put in.

Mentor Mitsu was super cool about all of this. Gave me a rental and called me with updates every few days.

I had a 2004 VIII with over 30k miles that never had ANY problems with the tranny.

Occasionally mine grinds going into 2nd. Also a bit notchy into 3rd. Only noticed the grinding when up-shifting, so it could be due to the car's g-force throwing me around a bit.

hey you guys i've been doing some research on tranny's so far and haven't really got anywhere! but i think my car sounds the worse so far, it's an 03 new, ran perfectly fine at about 22K miles 5th gr start grindin' wen shiftin' fast. Then at about 33k 4th start doing the same, got me worried so i take it to mitsu, they quoted it's normal??? now at about 45k 2nd gear doesn't want to go in gear and rattles in reverse??? haha anyone sounds familiar, eventually i'm going back to stock and straight back to the dealership, hopefully they'll do something about this problems any suggestion you guys most of my miles are from hwys, i drive atleast 45miles a day to work! thanks for reading
